If you run just the springs, your stock struts will blow out and you will have a rough, bouncy ride. The stock struts arent valved properly for a lower ride height.

Your stock shocks probably won't blow out, but they will wear out much quicker when used with lowering springs.
Stock shocks are not made for the rigors of lowering springs. The higher spring rate (firmer) with stock shocks will result in a very bouncy ride. All that bounce will wear the shocks out quicker.
Eibach makes the "Pro-dampers" which can be used with any lowering spring but are engineered to be used with the Eibach springs. (Either Pro-kit or Sportline)
The Pro-kit springs can be used with the stock shocks (per Eibach) because while they lower your car, the spring rate isn't much more than stock.
Sportline springs, however, have a high enough spring rate that Eibach does not recommend use of stock shocks. (dampers)
I have the Sportline springs and installed them with stock shocks initially.....Mistake!
Way too bouncy, bent a front fender, not good. I soon purchased the pro dampers and haven't looked back since. Much better handling, control, No bouncy ride and no more bent fenders.
My advice (I've been there, done that) is too get the dampers at the same time. You'll either be sorry you didn't or glad you did.

OK- the hole damper (shock) thingy got me! Will invest in the proper dampers soon- but the springs are on the way and not sure I can hold off to get enough cash (without wife knowing)!!!! The Green Machine is not a daily driver- mostly cruise'n and shows- May let it ride till fall and then break it down. Thanks again for clearing that up-

^ you can put it on now if you want. i have sportlines on stock shocks.. yes it is bouncy when u hit a hole but you can avoid those.. i ride without a problem.. i will upgrade to the eibach dampers soon, probably in the next month or so but right now the ride isnt bothering me too much.

I'm with you. I was confused at first [being a newb in this stuff] not really knowing for sure that damper==shocks. So I was a bit worried, I wanted to make sure that I did not have any bounce once I lowered my car.

Right now, I have bounce when I corner and hit bumps or when I go over uneven roads. The bounce is more pronounced once you go faster, and I find to be unstable.

I am getting my eibach sportline, shocks[dampers], and swaybars installed this weekend. If I can find this thread again I will report back. But fireman knows what he's talking about.

It might cost you a bit more right now, but unless you are doing the install yourself, you might as well go for it. No point in doing this over again and paying someone 2x.
Good luck

Where is the best place (cheapest place ) to buy the Eibach "Pro-dampers" ???

I have had the Pro-kit, for a couple years with the stock shocks, and the ride has deteriated. I imagine my stock shocks are now toast.
