As mentioned in a previous thread, my tranny is lagging and shifting roughly up and down since having my mechanic fix it. (oil leaked out, went into limp mode after sensor seal leaked)
Dealership said it would be about $150 or so to scan it for software updates and apply them if needed after test driving and diagnostics. My mechanic had borrowed a dip stick from the dealership to check levels, but obviously couldn't flash it or check for updates without the proper computer equipment. They did say they had to reset the hazard light concerning the limp mode, so they have at least that much equipment anyway. I'm just not sure what the difference is between what an average good mechanic has and what a dealership has, if any.
Is my only option to go to a dealership because of their scanning capabilities? Technically, my mechanic filled according to the dipstick. I just don't know of anything I can do myself if what is wrong is computer related.
On another note, would a Predator correct all that by putting in it's own tranny tuning anyway? ;) I am aware of what the Pred costs, yes.
