Hey guys a hand would be nice, i have heard a chlunking for sometime in my suspension, i replaced both outter tierods and it still continued.
Now a mechanic told me it was a swaylink bar, just out of curiousity, if the chlunking comes from the right side of the car more then the left, is it possible that it may just be a upper or lower balljoint?
Is that even possible if it is the link bar?
Any help would be appreciated.
thanks ken

I have heard of the front sway bar links coming loose. I also have a clunk coming from my front suspension and I have had both tensioner struts, all, and all 4 tie-rods replaced and I still get the clunk. I gotta get under and check my sway bar link. If it is loose, it will make noise.

I had a clunk and was much louder/worse on the passenger side. Took it to my dealer and they came up with the sway links being bad. They were replaced and the majority fo the clunk went away and stayed that way for the past 30K miles or so.
Now I have a little more clunky noise from up front again and this time it is due to excessive play in the outer tie rods. So, that is the next thing to be done in the next few weeks.
I would definitely have the sway links checked and replaced. It wasn't a large expense (under $175), but have also heard that it is a job that can be done on your own too...

The factory sway links are about $25 each. Its probably something you can do yourself. I had mine apart in the rear on Sunday to add some washers.

Does anybody know the part numbers for the front sway links? I have an '06 Charger R/T if that matters.

Sway links are DEFINITELY something you can do yourself. It's as easy as changing brakepads. It honestly takes longer to jack up the car and get the wheel off.
