I just bought new tires - Vredestein Ultrac Sessantas - for my '06 CSRT-8.
Today, the roads have been wet. On a few safe roads, I gave the Vreds a little bit of a workout. And they are sticky. Very sticky. Even in the rain.
All of this is leading up to the following question: now that my tires are MUCH stickier, do I need to worry about snapping my halfshafts?
My first thought was "no way, they are fine" - but I've heard of many people snapping them, so I'm not so sure.
My ride is stock, except for the Vreds, a Mopar CAI, and some Billet Tech. Although, a Corsa exhaust is in my future (damn you, 402 Motoring, for temping me so, and doing such a good job on everything).
So, need I worry about my halfshafts?
