Here is the pumpkin & related parts.

Finally, a closeup of the massive ring gear & Detroit True Trac LSD. Shouldn't have to worry about breaking anything in there.

This is the Paramount (BuilderBill) 8.8" Ford W/the Detroit True Trac LSD.

The ratio is 3.23 of course.

maybe its just the picture, but how does the pattern look? a couple of the teeth make it look like the pinion is too shallow.

I don't think you are seing the pattern, the ring gear looks like it was wiped down so the pattern does not really show. I will probably double check it just to make sure.

Very nice Dan. Is it in yet? :)

No, there was a little snafu & the hubs did not get shipped. Bill is sending them via airfreight.

There is still other work to do. I have a cam to swap in this weekend anyway. Not a whole lot different than the Crane 216. A little less exhaust duration, more lift, more agressive cam profile & a 113 LSA. That should give me some more grunt out of the hole & hopfully keep the great top end of the Crane 216.

I'm trying my damnedest to join you on the 11 second N/A 5.7 list Chris

Sweet - should never slip now! Going to a wider tire on the rear just to make sure?

Cripes, won't 325/45 17 M&H Racemasters be wide enough?

Awesome. I can't wait to see what you run with the new setup.

Hopefully the new cam will run W/the current Crane 216 tune. It should, not a whole lot of difference in duration.

I too have had to exercise patience. Maybe it is a start up thing Cam. Bill has been scrambling to get these prototypes up & running.

One thing I can say is that the craftmanship looks supurb & perhaps that is why Bill has been struggling to get these units out. The attention to detail seems meticulous.

Bill says he has several units ready to ship to the west coast, he is waiting on some driveshaft length verification from me.

There were some discrepancies between USCGcharger & the speedfactory application as far as driveshaft length.

One of my priorities today is to get the pumkin in place & varify the driveshaft length.

This is supposedly the last prototype (#3) before production.

If you hang in there, I'm think you will be happy W/the product.

I just did a quick pattern check W/some spray enamel.

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j31/PowerWagon896/BuilderBill/BuilderBill.jpg

Looks like great tooth contact pattern to me. It might look a bit shallow in the top 2 teeth, but that is where the wet enamel ran to the bottom when I went to get the camera. The bottom tooth where the enamel was not as heavy shows the contact towards the center of the ring gear.

The pattern was centered & nearly across the whole tooth before the paint ran.

Now, back to the garage!

Thanks for the Kudos Dan.
Obviously you have a prototype that uses your existing cover.

I held on shipping Cam's & Paul's as theirs was to be the 1st units with the 1 piece cover (don't need to use the stock cover). Obviously, a bad choice reading Cams response.
Sorry again Cam.:blam:
I'll ship out the 2 piece and if you want to swap for the 1 piece down the road I'll be happy to do that.
The 1 piece cover has taken a ton of design work.
It incorporates a 2 bolt girdle (similar to my 8.8 for the Jeeps) that keeps the caps from walking and also will just look neat as hell and be a little lighter.
It takes a bit to CNC it out of a 3" block of high strength of aluminum.
My patent includes both cover designs.

Oh...my axles have tone rings installed so you can sell your current axles with the tones rings attached.

Hey Bill.

Mate well done.....I am at a crossroad as to which way I should go and I need you to send me info/price/time frame for just the centre and half shafts (no tailshaft required as you know why). And please be gentle :)

how much does that baby weigh?
just curios because i weighed a stock cast unit yesterday at 84 lbs (but it did still have the little ears on it)... now that i think about it, i cant remember if it was a 210 or 215 that we weighed

Well, if it does weigh more than the stocker, no better place to have the weight, right over the rear wheels.

Bill:

What about that dimension I sent you?

Are we good to go?

Also, what do you normally do W/the vent? I thought I would just put a flexable tube on it, run it doiwnhill a few inches & cable tie it to the crossmember.
