Well, I am due for some new skins, currently have Goodyear RSA on SRT mag wheels. I have two fairly new condition Goodyear F1 Supercar tires and was about to buy another pair but at almost 300 a pop, I can get a full set of 4 by other manufacturers for close to the same $$$.
Having not driven my car on anything but F1's or RSA's I am a bit hesitant on going another route, both handle well and are fairly quiet. I want a tire that provides good traction, good wear and keep road noise to a minimum. Since I live in florida, a summer tire is all I need.
So... Do I go with another pair of F1's OR?
Thanks in advance for your suggestions!

I live in FL and just went from stock RSA's to the Vredstein 275/40/20's. Great tires in the rain and you can get for about $850-$900 driving out the tire shop door.

I've just pulled the trigger on Vred's - the 275/40/20 SUV Ultrac Sessantas: http://www.lxforums.com/board/showthread.php?t=157855

They will - hopefully - be on my CSRT-8 this weekend.

Actually considering the Falken FK452, I can do 4 of these for less than 100.00 difference over 2 F1's. Had Falken's on my wifes intrepid and the where fantastic. Nice ride, great cornering, quite and good tread wear. Any feedback relating to Falken tires on the LX platform? Dont wish to stagger as I prefer to rotate.

I just bought some Toyo Proxies 4 245/45/20 for 165 per. They went on the same rims you have. They ride comfortable. Traction is great in the rain. No noise and dosen't break loose under hard cornering, unless I punch the peddle. I like them alot for the money. I started a thread with the link of where i bought them last week.

I also threw some toyo proxie 4's on my CSRT-8 and they ride lovely 245/45/20.I've taken corners on I-95 at 80mph :racing:handles like a champ.

Those are the two I would go with. Toyo Proxes 4s or Vredestein Ultrac Sessantas.

So, since these are being suggested, may I ask why Vred's or Toyo over Falken? Any specific reasons for these choices?

For me, it was a crap-shoot. I've heard that the Vreds are slightly better than the Toyos, so I went with them as I'm doing separate summer/winter tires this year. Either way, I'm replacing my stock RSAs, and the opinion is that regardless of Vreds vs. Toyos I will have MUCH improved handling.

I think that, between the Proxes and the Sessantas, you're going to do well either way (this is what I've learned, at least, over the past few days).

These are what I put on my Charger. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/(2)-or-(4)-NEW-275%2f40%2f20-NEXEN-ROADIAN-HP,-BEST-DEAL-!!_W0QQitemZ120393702145QQcmdZViewItem

At $127.50 a piece, they were the least expensive I could find. I've had mine on for about a week and a half and I like them just fine. I don't have anything to compare them to though except for the stock 18" that I used to have on the car. However, my criteria is really dominated by price; I'm looking for the least expensive I can find. I figure I'm just going to roast them anyway, why pay more than I need to? Good luck with whatever choice you make!

Unless Falken has some new sizes, they didn't have any tires with a high enough aspect ratio for my ride.

I would never buy tires based on "cheapest I can find" attitude. As Michelin say's..." I have too much riding on my tires." No way.

Well...
Decided to go with the Falken FK-452. I have some experience with Falken tires in the past and was more than satisfied with them, matter of fact we replaced them with the same set.
I considered both the toyo's and Vred's.... Vred's did not have the size I wanted, 255/45/20, and did not wish to stagger so I can rotate. 275/40/20 I believe wont fit the RT front end without spacers (already have 3mm for the srt wheels). Since that left Toyo or Falken left on my list, I decided on the Falkens since I found them for 588.43 Delivered. Still cheaper than two F1's
Thanks for the input guys, much appreciated!

Good price on the Falkens. I used to run those all the time when I had my Mustang. I liked them. Best of luck with them. :thumbs_u:
