Required a couple of trips to electronics store to experiment with LED voltage and resister Ohms. Kept blowing my superbright LEDs and couldn't figure out why. I found that you'll need resisters with superbright LEDs versus regular LEDs. Use this website for help with LED/Resister selection: www.ledcalc.com (http://www.ledcalc.com). I used a 9v battery to test for brightness/look before drilling holes in console for LEDs and soldering LEDs/Resisters.
I used mercury switch for auto on/off when armrest lid is opened/closed. Wanted clean look so took armrest lid apart and hid the mercury switch inside armrest lid.
Used 12v power supply from cig lighter inside armrest compartment to power LEDs.
I have "how-to" pics but couldn't figure out how to load multiple pics. Maybe I'll figure that out for my next mod.:banghead:
