Not sure to post this question under s.c. or nitrous thread, so i guess this would be middle ground:)....I am wondering if it's possible to spray a small dry shot (Say a 5hp or 10hp shot) after the blower for maybe 11seconds or so, if so( which i'm pretty sure we can) , will the nitrous act as a 5 hp power adder, or will it act as another way to cool air temp down( which in return should yield more power also). Will this small amount of nitrous even cool the air intake charge? Will major cmr tunning for more fuel be needed?...looking to do this for track only mod for those real hot days..:modding:

Nick, I'd go with a 25 wet shot. The n2o will not only make you more hp/tq, it will also make more power from the cooler air. Trust me. lol

First what kind of blower are you running?
Second..Here is what we have done on Ford F/I applications for years with great results...a N20 Spray Bar for the intercooler. It wil lower intake temps and increase power at WOT...much safer/easier to do this than running a shot on top of the blower. We have not tried this on teh LX platform yet however.

Yes...we actually ended up running both water meth and the spray bar. I would do water meth first...I would not do a dry regular shot on these cars the only thingI would consider would be the spray bar.

I should have some results soon...I am running a custom spray bar FMIC kit... Your right, this way is safer and it really works, Co2 and nitrous. On my previous car I gained almost 40fwhp from a 11 second blast to the FMIC on the dyno...Heres the pic of my setup, I just need to mount the FMIC bar..

What if your running a PD blower with no intercooler?

It also cools everything else down in the engine bay if your actually moving when spraying...Don't forget, the air flows through my Front mount, right through my radiator, pass the fans, into the engine bay...

Than you can't use a spray bar...
Hemi C is running nitrous and boost.....The tune is the key.
But never should you run a dry shot on a LX.....

Nope I never would but I've been pondering the thought of some iat cool down options and a small shot should do just fine. I know some of the turbo guys spray a 50 shot just after the turbo to cool things down a bit as well

you can get away with it...If im not mistaken a good amount of timing needs to be pulled if you run a large shot with boost...MOL SRT-8 mention something about a controller of some sort that could accomplish that.
If you spray to much fuel with the shot than you lose power because, your running to rich..but if you spray to much nitrous with not enough fuel then that will send the A/R's out of range and increase your chances of detonation. I think the sweet spot on a boosted car is 11.0-11.5 air fuel ratio, it would be wise to try and keep it there.

Oh don't worry , I'll trust you:wink:... What i'm thinking though is if i shoot just a wie 5-10hp shot , 1. the bottle will last longer and 2. I really don't need more power(yet), just wanna be safe during those 100 degree weather days this summer....Do you guys think a small 'dry' shot will need alot of tunning??

Nick, I can spend a full day at the track with my setup and only use 3lbs from the bottle.

I like this idea with the spray bar srt8u but i'm not running an intercooler now...I use meth to cool my charge...:friday:

msd makes a timing controller that is perpose built for the new hemi's. it plugs into the cam and crank sensors and can pull timing in 2 different ways (up to 39 degrees from a map sensor for boost and up to 20 degrees at a flip of a 12 volt source) no one i know runs that much timing but it could pull it out. i have mine wired into my nitrous controller so that when the 2nd stage comes on it pulls out timing.
