Gauging Interest for SouthEastern Car Club

I'm gauging interest for an lx owners club for the southeast. I am located near the Atlanta area. Just trying to gauge interest for a large club consisting of all lx owners from the south east? I'm wanting to put together something like the SELOC (southeast lexus owners club). This way you can still join clubs/teams in your area for showing and whatever, but the southeast club could be one that we're all a part of. I too,would be interested in this type of association. Am a member in "Club 300" ,
but it isn't doing anything at the present. If it's going to be a 'Southeastern LX Club" ,
then a more Central location would be fairer to some others. Just My Opinion.

BUMP,BUMP...Come on guys,let's show some interest here . We "Southerners" gotta stick together,it gives the rest of 'em something to talk about ,thus keeping their minds off their REAL problems.lol
Seriously though,there has got to be a good number of us on this Forum,it would be great to have a Meet & Greet sometime after Christmas and New Year's. It doesn't have to be an elobrate gala,or traffic stopping event. A gathering at a Mopar dealership is always good for business, MOST dealers are happy to accomadate parking area to have the free publicity..people like to look..we ALL know that. My town is the furtherest from a Central location, but I don't mind making a 'comfortable' drive ( 400-500 miles ),
but not much further,unless it's something special..lol
Any other input I know would be appreciated by Chris ( he started this thread & idea ). :thumbs_u:

AWE HELL, com' on folks. What else could be more fun then to get together, and maybe leave some extra rubber on the roads around the south? Wo says we need to centralize? Why don't we all put our names in a hat and pick different towns everytime? Any thoughts on that?

That's not a bad idea..Maybe only a few could make it,maybe many,
I think the only thing that would make a difference would be location.
But that's up to each person if they wanna make a "trip" or not.
Last August,my fiance' and I drove 500 miles to Clearwater .Fl,for a 'gathering'..
was only 10-12 of us ( including,wives,girlfriends,etc. ),one Magnum-the rest 300's.
We made a weekend trip out of it,did a little shopping,sight seeing. Sunday had the 'gathering' at Target's parking lot,
checked each other's rides,"BS'ed" a bit,then went to the ORIGINAL Hooter's for lunch. Had a nice time.
Keep in mind,you are not required to 'make' every 'gathering',just those you wanna make.
Some maybe just too far to drive for a couple of hours of "Meet & Greet".
My personal thought would be to wait till after New Year's,
after the Christmas cerdit card bills catch up
with us ( ouch ).

That is exactly what I am talking about. After the New Year, we all need to firm up the plan. No need to make everyone of them, but maybe have someone host one in there town evry, say quarter? Someone could get a place to set out the cars, and maybe some kind of lunch or dinner reservation somewhere in their town. I like it, lets work on it some more. If some one wanted to be say the "president" or something like that, then they could call their town "headquarters" for the club. I think this is an outstanding idea!!! Come on SOUTHEAST, what d'ya say????

ok whats the word with this southeastern car club....do we want to have just one car club where we would have designated meets that may be too far to reach for some people? or should we have chapters to best suit travel and members i think the chapter would be the way to go then there would only be one main meet and several local meets in a year

I say pick a city either closest to the greatedt membe concentration ( to keep attendance up) or pick one that is equally inconvenient for everyone (out of 'fairness')

what about florida or georgia........see thats why i think chapters will work better than regional then everyone whos is near or far can participate.....i think if we had a main once a year event in say nashville or chatanooga...then id make that trip but in the meantime id like to have local get togethers as well..... i think thats the problem too! people wanna and wanna but no one is setting up dates......I like floridart's idea if your in florida and you wanna meet.... lets meet at the garlits' museum very great place....plus we could have our own prizes and such...the same should go with all the rest of the states.....it doesnt have to be a group but a LX M&G i say we have several LX M&G's take all the states with big cities and put them in a hat randomly setup locations dates and times with each drawing whatever locals are drawn can attend that M&G therefore it will be a neccesarily be a national LX meet...but more like a LX tour LOL then we can see what has been done to the LX vehicles and make a LXM&GOY awards

I live NE of Atlanta and should be getting my Charger New Year's Eve weekend. I'm up for getting together. I could do Chattanooga, South Carolina and southern GA pretty well.Outside of that range and I couldn't be as certain to go. Of course anything in north GA/Atlanta would be great for a local meet.

LOL There's a place right over here that we can meet at called Buffalo Wild Wings on Independence Blvd. Or if the Southside is your flavor we can meet over at one of the many places off of I-485 and S. Tryon. I like this "Buffalo..." because it has a big parking lot and alot of car clubs have meets there from time to time. I can set it up if you guys are game. Just let me know.

heres the info:
The Orlando "Meet & Greet" for ALL LX'ers is Saturday January 28th from Noon till 4:00 p.m.+. The location is the "Buffalo Wild Wings" at 7004 International Dr. (about 3/4 of a mile north of Sand Lake Rd. on the west side).
