Got too good of a deal on an 08 Nitro SXT. Let everything go with her, too lazy to take it all out. She was getting beatup and getting close to outta warranty. Plus the wife has gotten me more into the outdoors stuff. She should make someone here happy.

Final Pics,

New Ride, 08 Nitro SXT 3.7L 4X4. What pushed me over the edge was 1) $3500 in rebates (std rebate, Credit Union rebate and Military Rebate). This took care of the upside-down. 2) Lifetime Powertrain warranty and finally the bigone 3) $2500 Lfetime BUMPER-TO-BUMPER warranty!!

Hate to see ya go, but I understand, with the rebates you just can't pass it up.
The Nitro looks good, you'll be adding your personal touches real soon I imagine.

Dave

I be checking in from time to time. As for mods, I have slowed wayyyy down. The only things I can think of for now will be the mandatory side window tints and a very light taillight tint. And when the tires need replacing, some with a lil more bite to them.

Having the Magnum was the most fun I have had with a car. Besides the front window tints, I did everything on my own. I also feel that the 35+ changes helped her towards her demise.

The K.I.S.S philosophy is in full force here.

Take care.

Some photoshopping of the windows and tails.

Congrats on the new ride! I personally like the Nitro, and it sounds like you got a very good deal that you're happy with. Never heard of "Lifetime Bumper to Bumper", but sounds hard to pass up at that price! :beerchug:

Nice looking Nitro. I have been thinking about trading my wagon in on a Nitro as well. I have seen them around town and I think its a nice all around SUV. What kinda gas mileage are you getting? And how does it compare to the Magnum i when cruising?

I like it verymuch so, gas milage is down a few, I drive the stick "normal" where I used to drive spirited with the Magnum and get the same gas milage. I get on normal 18-19 in town driving with the 3.7L 6 speed. Whats nice is that the grears are close enough that skipping a gear in no biggie. I didnt testdrive the R/T, no need, just knew I wanted 4x4 and nothing super duper.

Around here (Cowboy Country) the Rams are premimum. I looked at them and the cheapest was $42k, SCREW THAT!

With rebates and incentives the upside down was taken care of plus half of the LIFETIME BUMPER TO BUMBER. New car, LT B2B warranty, 4X4, $98 less monthly payments, I get the same gas milage as the magnum. I couldnt pass that up.

Miss her, yeah
Regret it, NOPE!

Well, the wife has always dreamed of a Mustang. She really wants a '65, but we cant afford one of them. So I hunted all over Cheyenne, WY and found this 2000 v-6. Since she named my Nitro "Ugly Stick", man she really dont like the boxy look haha and she wanted to name her ride Black Beauty, I told her (oops suggested) that name is over done. I came up with Black Velvet.

We are about to call "her" baby MAYHEM! First mod should have been new tires, we had a blow out on the highway. She did real good not panicing. But as par for our luck, we screwed a rim. The Chrome painted rims are impossibile to find (esp with centercap that was missing from day one). We put some good but cheap tires on her and had to go with some American Eagle 211 rims. NOBODY in the capital of wyoming has any rim instock for a 15" stang anymore. Since we immediately put 3 of 4 new tires on her then was going to worry about the rim, we wernt about to change sizes. Should have jsut bit the bullet and gone to 17/18s. Hind sight is 20/20. So far this ""thing" has cost us over $1000 and havent even paid the sales tax yet haha. Sheese, what a pain.

yeah the E2E grin is priceless. It hasnt been a smooth ride Yet!

first week, tire blows out. We go right away to get new tires thinking that the "factory" rim would be easy to get. Looks like the previous owner took the painted rims and had them chromed. Looked around with shipping it was about the same price for the 4 new rims to get a new one chromed. Plus the chroming on the others wasnt bright. So there is $760.

Broke the windshield cowling looking at why the squirters wernt working, lucky to find one at a salvage yard for $40 vs $180 for new.

Oil change $30
Gas filter $10
Ait Filter $10

Headlight cover, tail covers, bumber lettering, rocker stripes $200
$1050 so far,

now the convt roof's sewing is coming unraveled. New roof around 1 july, $850

SO well will be looking at a $9000 car!! Worth a lot less financially,
but again priceless to the wife. She always dreamed of a 65, but got her lil
"Black Velvet".

She still cant get used to people looking at her in the car hahah.

Added the rocker stripes today. Learned a few lessons
1) dont over water, takes forever to get the bubbles out.
2) use a razor to "scape" out the bubbles before removing the carrier paper
3) take your time took me lil over 2 hours, check double check, adjust, peel etc

This summer we are going to be camping, if traveling with wife's sisters family, a boat. If alone, we are trying to find a pop-up camper. Also on the look out for a small 8/6' flat trailer for the heck of it.

Call me cautious, but I would still be wary of putting much faith in any kind of warranty until this company re-emerges from the troubles it is in now (especially after dropping $2500 for it)...unless I missed some kind of recent news release that all warrantees are 'safe'.

Federally backed, dont know what that means haha, but wanted something to take the place of the magnum that I could have fun with and tow.

Plus they were the only ones that would even deal with the 3500 I was upside down on with payments under what I was paying for the Magnum. We give you what you want if you buy this deal type of number games.

The last splash was about 3 truck lengths. Instead of running though it, I stopped in
the middle. This way we would catch the wave haha. It was fun , except for the few
choice words that the wife and daughter had when they noticed that their windows
were cracked about an 1". Gotta to get the steam cleaning out today haha.

Some reason the mud only hit their side. Barely had any above the bumper stripe on my side.
