Finally got time to install my replacement wheel well liner today, rotate the tires while I'm there.
After looking at the new liner I said to myself, self, those other 3 liners are pretty dingy. So here I am, wheels off, bucket and sponge with simple green, cleaning the wheel well liners.
Wife walks out, shakes head, says, I need a support group. Told her I had one already but it was full of addicts too. She said you need a support group with "former addicts" not current addicts.
Am I obsessive compulsive, do I truely have a disorder?

A widespread enough addiction becomes a social trait. See BMWDons 'Hooters' thread.
No, a TRUE OCD would have been cleaning the underside of the car to match!!

......Wife walks out, shakes head, says, I need a support group.....
Right about here I would have turned to ask if she had finished cleaning the house already......Then go back to my business. :beerchug:

Hey, you just made my day... I thought I was the only one that washed the wheel wells (though I must confess, I don't remove the wheels - I just reach behind them as best I can) !

Nah.....you don't have a disorder yet. After I wash my wheel well liners, I rub a coat of my tire protectant dressing on them as well. Makes em shine real perty. Am I beyond help? Dunno!

A standard part of my weekly wash includes cleaning the wheel wells. I drive the car to work everyday along a sand/shell driveway and then through road construction three times a week. After 500 miles the car looks horrible, especially with the road dust, fine sand, squashed bug, and dirty water spots all over it, but the weekends give me a chance to bring it back to showroom condition. At least I can always say what I am going to be doing Saturday afternoons. I couldn't be happier.

Bows head and admits shamefully that, a clean house is not really something you'll find very often at my house....
I offered to get a house keeper, she turned it down.
Did I just say all of that outloud?
Shhhhh!

Even bought a special brush so I could reach behind wheels better to wash the wells! Special brushes are important for all kinds of stuff! Then I use a tire shine spray on 'em to make them "real perty". Don't care if beyond help - makes me smile and feel good when done!

I used bug and tar remover to get those nasty streaks off that simple green would not take away then, yes, I used armorall to make them shine.

Can I join too? I use a brush to get gunk off there too. Didn't think about armorall, used it for the black splash guards though. Thanks for the support, group.

Anyone found a good sponge/brush to clean the wheels themselves? I mean the inner side of the wheels, where the caliper is. I have been using one of those "sponge on a stick" things that you can use to wash dishes, it even holds soap. Just looking for other ideas, the front wheels are hard to reach towards the back where that little groove is.

I got mine from the auto parts place here locally. It's kind of a long oval looking brush and gets between the spokes too. A bottle brush might work as well. I use Mean Green to clean the tires and wheel wells, then armor all. Looks nice when done.

Tire rotation day is a big one for me. Wheel well liners are the tip of the iceberg. I get any hardware that I can reach factory clean.
Then again, so is oil change day, clean the whole underside while I got it on the lift. I think OCD affects us all to varying degrees.

Man do I feel good, I thought I was the only one. I have "special rags" to clean the wells with tire protectant.

I use that Armor All spray on stuff in the wheel wells. You know the foamy one step stuff. it cleans 'em and makes them shiny at the same time. But I have MPD and it's not really me that's doing that. what can I say I'm beside myself........ look there I am.
