No problem. Do you want to go to a place that has a Big Diablosport Sign in the window??? Hows about Executive Performance on Merriam Dr. in Merriam KS. About 10 minutes from here. We, Pk & I had talked with Andy on setting up a "Dyno Day" sometime soon. Just give Andy a call @ 677-6778. I think he just got done the other day making sure his New Printer is ready to Print some Dyno sheets out. Just an FYI

Sure allrighty then... you can't go so ya get out in yer yard doing some kinda weird rain dance huh??? :Na_Na_Na_Na:
I heard a rumor that a certain Magnum:blam: owner heard how many faster Chargers were gonna be there at the track and called his boss and volunteered to work... :swinger:

J/K

maybe next time huh... I can't wait to find out what kinda numbers all my mods so far are making. There's a woman who owns a grape ape Daytona who is so terrified I am gonna turn out to have the faster LX between the two that she started backhanding her hubby upside the head while we were on the phone just because he made mention of a mod or two that might or might not be taking place on what might or might not be a lavender colored Daytona...Krazy huh?!

tomorrow :modding: I am gonna break out all the glass on my RT and replace it with some lighter weight Plexiglass, pulling all the seats and replacing the drivers seat with a superduper lightweight alloy lightly padded stadium seat, ripping out all my carpet and sound deadener, drilling a buncha holes in my wheels and brake rotors to lighten em up, pulling my gas tank and replacing it with a one gallon gas can and a rubber hose to clamp to the fuel line, removing all of my windshield washer fluid and radiator coolant, ditching the radiator and grill to enhance cooling airflow (hey if air cooled engines are good enough for Porsche they're good enough for me!), removing my trunk lid and all external lights (more airflow enhancement up front!)... lets see, did I forget anything? I figure if I can get the RT down to around 2650lbs with driver (which would amount to a 2100lb car) I will be on a level playing field against the higher hp Daytona...

Oh yeah, forget those 25.4" shoes I was gonna run out back... I stole the neighbor kids tricycle and took the wheels and tires off the back of it to use Saturday(I put em on my kitchen scales and it didn't even hardly move the dial!)... I did some quick calculations and found that these supershort 6 1/2" tall rear tires will effectively change my 2.82 diff gears to a whopping superholeshotwheelstanding 12.41 to 1...:panic: Now if I can just get the tires to stick on the launch!:racing:

I will let QuickRT tell his story about how it went.

As for me, there was supose to be a rustang come in for dyno also...well, after QuickRT was done, I was supose to wait until after the rustang...but he called at the last minute & said he wasn't coming. :blam: GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So the shop closes at 5pm & I'm supose to go back next Wednesday....but HerDaytona & I talked about it this morning & I may go down there after work today. I know my car will be able to dyno without any issues, so it shouldn't take very long to get some numbers which I want before the next mod :modding: which is scheduled for next Thursday. If I go today, I'll be sure to post up some numbers.

One thing to think about. Nobody close by has any of the "Good Stuff" to mix with "Street 93 fuel". So numbers are just for Air/Fuel Clean up as I had said before. No 100 Octane to mix in. Johnson Drive Station Owner said He is NOT filling his Storage Tank again. Just 93 Street Fuel. Bummer:sad:

Shibbs when You and Grape were on the dyno same day way back March 29,08. Grape made 300/328 no Mods. You had 305 I think then. And Grape hit it back in July or Aug at 316/352. Of course before headers, underdrive T-body. Oh and when the Plum got to run 100mph Grape ran 13.57 @ 102.98. So Hmm headers, underdrive and a t-body Grape should be better. We will just have to see:wink: Aint That Right PK!!!

Well, I had kind of a mixed bag sort of day at the dyno... To start with due to the short notice I had to prepare for the dyno visit I didn't get 2 main and very important things done that I really needed to do before strapping it to the drum... I need to put some fresh Royal Purple oil (and of course a new oil filter) in the motor, and I have 33,900 miles on the factory spark plugs. Given that scenario and the problems encountered with the tune I had loaded in the RT it took 2-3 hours longer than anticipated on the dyno sorting everything out. Still the numbers that the motor put out was was IIRC 309 HP and around 347 TQ. The torque curve is flat from around 2500-5700rpm staying above 300 thru that range... I was told that with the fresh oil change and the NGK v-twin spark plugs recommended to put in I should see about a 10-12 hp jump and near that amount in tq also. That was based on the readouts from the dyno and the predator logging. I will say that after the WOT fuel changes were made during the dyno runs the car seems to have a noticeable increase in power on the low end and mid range (based on the tried but not necessarily true SOTP dyno method).
I bought the NGK plugs last night - took home the 8 they had in stock and the other 8 are supposed to be here this morning at 9am, and I am getting the royal purple for the oil change this AM as well.

On another note it was mentioned that my K&N FIPK setup could well be a bottleneck in the flow and I discussed with the guy running the dyno about fabrication of a dual snorkle intake to replace it with which should resolve that choking point and further increase the power numbers.

I am kinda disapointed in the output numbers from the dyno runs, and hope the plugs make as much difference as anticipated. We'll see later today.

I am sure by now PK has posted somewhere the pictures she took of my real short tires I had on the back of my car yesterday - the ones I will be running at the strip. They are only 25.4" tall and my formula tells me they change my 2.82 gear to a 3.18. I do know that it hits second much earlier than before and hits hard with a nice scratch at the shift...

The good news about the low numbers recorded Wednesday is that PK will now get overconfident about her chances of beating my car...

wow those numbers seem low for your mods but all these cars seem a little wierd on the dynoI was told that my plugs having almost 34k on them and the fact that I am needing an oil change (to a smaller extent) had an effect on the numbers... there were some funny unexplainable dips in the curves that were thought to be caused by the plugs age... I have finished installing the passenger side spark plugs and as soon as I post this will be going out to do the drivers side and change the oil for some fresh Royal Purple synthetic lube along with a fresh filter... Then I'm gonna go out to a nice straight stretch of road in the country and heat up the tires I will be running on and trying a few 0-60 runs...
I was also surprised that the numbers were as low as they were because I was truthfully expecting at least 10-15 higher on the HP and around 10 or so higher on the tq. Hope the plug change makes the difference and removes what was holding the motor back on the dyno. One thing confirmed was that the motor does indeed pull strong all the way to 6k (actually he was running it up to around 6100) and was pulling over 300 tq between around 2400-6000 rpm with the peak hitting between 4500-5000.
Dyno's don't always tell all the story since you do not get the advantage of increased airflow I should get as my mph increases etc... We will see what happens at the track... It has been long enough since I have sat at the starting line on the 1/4 I figure my first light will either be really slow on reaction time or I will redlight trying to prevent it... any way it turns out as long as we get the rain to hold off it should be a fun day running the car and enjoying the competition with PK et al...

i hear ya let me know how that goes i might end up changeing my plugs:beerchug:The plugs and fresh Royal purple oil change made a noticeable difference on the SOTP dyno... The guy at the shop with the dyno told me he figured those two changes should make about 10 rwhp difference with the tune mods he made... I had a best time of 13.75 at 102.85 IIRC at the track which corrected to 13.331 @ 106.002 mph. I was consistently getting 2.03 60' times... gotta figure out how to get those down to 2.0 or better. My first run of the day was against another Hemi Charger and I won even tho (due to it being my first experience with the lights in more than a decade) my rt was a pathetic .809... of course that was the only race of several more that I won against that particular Charger that day.
My 2 best R/T's out of 13 runs down the strip were .045 and .085... Gonna take some practice to get consistent at the tree.
I had one run where tho I had a great burnout the tires didn't bite and I ended up smoking the tires almost halfway down the track... I was told I was supposed to let off when they smoked but since they had been biting good every run up to that point I guess my first thoughts were that they would bite and take off - but they didn't so I let off and coasted to a 21 second et...
Surprisingly my last 2 runs were after I put my stock Goodyear Assurance street tires back on (running 35 lbs of air) - the tires that get absolutely NO bite on the street and with a short dry burnout to heat them up both times they got great traction (of course with the taller tires my 60' times dropped to around 2.07) and I did hot run back to back runs of 13.78 and 13.79 uncorrected at 102.42-102.45 mph respectively(corrected times were in the 13.3xx range) which were my 3rd and 4th best et's of the day
My best times seemed to come when I shifted at around 5800 instead of letting the autostik shift at just over 6k.
I am thinking if I can get a good custom tune after making the mods I am in the process of doing I should be able to run in the 13.2-3 range (uncorrected). We shall see.
I really need some DR's!!!

Yo Quick what is the "Unamed Mod"? Also on the stockies you can drop the air pressure to 26-28 to help the launch.

That would be unnamed modS - plural HerDaytona

I know about dropping the air pressure, but if you remember that day The wife was tired and ready to leave so when I put the stock tires on I was kinda rushed to make those last 2 runs, which is why I didn't change the air pressure and did hot laps with no cool down in between and still managed to get 2 good et's that were .01 apart. The second run was done at 183 degrees (First one was at 177) and was .01 slower and the 60' times were only .002 apart and the mph had a .02 difference...

I'll give you a call HerDaytona (if you are at home) and we can discuss the "unnamed" mods... If you were to think about it you should be able to guess what they are based on past conversations we have had!

I was able to get a good rule of thumb as to just how much improvement I have made from racing against the other Inferno Red RT that was there running stock...
