Does anybody have any experience with the Pedders Touring Plus Package? I'm considering this an an alternative to KWs or Eibach, but I'm wondering exactly what I'd be getting. It seems that the package is made up of parts that are available on other packages, for example the shocks and struts seem to be the same across all packages, same with the springs. If this is true, would I be getting the same handling upgrades with the Touring+ Pkg as I would with the Track 1 package, minus the extensive bushing upgrades? I'm really interested in making my car handle better, especially now that I'm getting close to having a little one whose life may well depend on the car's ability to get out of the way of a collision (something that the car just failed miserably at the end of january -stock suspension).
Thoughts, comments, concerns?

Hiya! I have that package on my car- I've been very happy with it! You can talk to Rob@Wretched and find out what spring-heights are available for your car, he's a great guy to talk to about what you need/want. I have an AWD Charger, and got the springs that "lowered" mine down to "stock R/T RWD" height.
Not sure if there's an authorized Pedder's dealer in your area, but Rob can check on that for you...

Wreched is the closest to me at about 2 1/2 hours away.
Would you say that the handling has improved noticeably on your car since the upgrade? Obviously it has a little bit due to it being lowered by what - about 8" ;)? I find alot of glowing reviews of the KWs, but pretty much nothing at all about the Pedders Touring pack. I'm considerably less interested in lowering (but about 1.5" would be nice) than I am in increasing grip, controlling body roll, and increasing steering response.

I traveled 3 hours to my installer! ;)

Nope, lowered about 1 1/2" here, too. I'm down from AWD height to about normal R/T height. I find alot of glowing reviews of the KWs, but pretty much nothing at all about the Pedders Touring pack. I'm considerably less interested in lowering (but about 1.5" would be nice) -Rob can tell you what heights are available to you- than I am in increasing grip, controlling body roll, and increasing steering response.
Grip, control and responsiveness are THERE! I've given a few other LX owners a ride in my car, and they DID notice the difference! It still rides pretty well on the highway, too! Big bumps are a "little" more noticeable, but nothing that knocks your fillings loose.
FWIW- the KW's are also good too, and have many happy customers here. The KW package does NOT include the Bump Steer kit, but you can still get the Pedders one, or the Razor's Edge kit. I don't have any info. on a "comparison" between those two, though, but I know mine works!

I like the idea of having all the upgrades in one manufacturer's package, and the price is right on the pedders pack. The KWs AND a small bush kit from pedders would be way too much. For less than the price of the KW V2, I can get the Touring+ Package AND Swaybars...the decision is clear I think.
I'll definitely give you a yell grounded.

What should I be looking at for installation costs here...Rob from Wreched Motorsports just quoted me $1300 for Parts ($799) and installation/alignment...$500 to install and align the wheels seems a bit steep to me...an alignment at the tire shop I go to is only $79.99, so that leaves $430 for installation? Is that a bit out of whack?

Well, my install of this kit took about 6-7 hours, so that's probably about right...
That's "out the door"... install, alignment, etc.

But at the same time with the KW's you get height and rebound adjustment. With the pedders package you get no adjustments you're stuck with whatever spring height you choose.

That's true, but I'm pretty sure that the KWs are outside my budget especially when you include installation.
Is the KW install something that I could possibly do here at home? Tbyrne has the KWv2s with Hotchkis bars for $1700, but I figure that installation would put that up well over $2000, and I'm really trying to stay at or below $1300...I could try to stretch that for the KW and Hotchkis package, but the install would stretch too far.

Well well well...THAT changes things, especially due to their similarity to the $$$$$$$^$ Pedders xA kit....$900 SHIPPED is hard to argue with, especially if they stack up as well as it seems they do.
About 4 hours ago I was set on stretching the budget to get the KW2s and Hotchkis package from Tbyrne, and then I read the thread about the KW2 Noises and it was a turn off to say the least.
$900 would save enough money to get a predator+intake combo in addition to the suspension upgrades. I'm thouroughly impressed with this Megan kit.

Assuming you have the hand tools you can bang out the install on a sunny saturday morning and be crusising to the alignment shop in the afternoon. Hardest part of the entire install would be removing the coil in the rear and pulling the strut assembly up front. Just a cakewalk! Personally should I ever decide to go with coilovers these will be them. If you decide on these and need some help installing let me know and mabey I can work out a weekend when I can be up in the area. I have a whole crew of friends from college in your area.

I may have to take you up on that offer, I'll be ordering this stuff when my tax return gets here (should be about two weeks from now), and then we could definitely do an install party. I'll make quiche ;):friday:
