not much offered in this size, but it is the size I keep coming back to. Want something wider than the stock SRT tire, without going taller, and without (hopefully) rubbing.
Thinking about Factory Repro SRT wheel in gloss black with machined face with these tires. Looking at their ebay package.
Any thoughts on this tire, vs any other tires or sizes?
BTW - need to get 50-60K miles out of the tires. Usually that 14-16 months.

I've been running them for a few months..
my only complaint was when I was running staggered (ventus in the rear and RSA's up front in 2 different sizes) my ESP/Mr. Squiggles light would come on all the time during high speed turns, (like freeway on/off ramps)
since I went to the 275s are all four corners with the Ventus, this no longer happens..
so far 6000 miles on the rear and about 3000 on the front without issue..
the tire is rated at 50K for a 6000 pound SUV so the 2000 pound weight difference with our cars would make one believe they should last the 50K without issue, probably closer to 65/70k

that reminds me, I am guessing my 05 does not have TPMS, but without pulling a tire from a rim, how do I know for sure? tire pressure does not come up when you scroll through menu items like it did with our 06 Jeep that had TPMS.

You can tell by the valve stems. If they are rubber, you don't have them. If they are aluminum, you do.
Pulling the tires would help you know.

crap - it has metal valve stems. why does the TP not show up in either the system menu or the personal setting menu?

because far as I know it was not an option in 2005.. it didn't become an option until 2006 and the 2005 cluster doesn't even have the programming for it..

There's a lot of members running the Vredesteins in that set up.

Im running them and had rubbing issues up front on the knuckle. I would recommend 255-45-20 if you have a stock 5.7 suspension like i do if your got a SRT suspension then your good to go

True, as I am however, you won't get no wear near 50K out of set of Vreds. I love mine and don't think I'll change unless something better comes along for the same price.

running stock RT suspension. does that change you guys opinion of what will fit? at 255/45/20, there are a lot more options. I wonder if those will be wide enough.

I'm running Nexens on mine (or will be when they show up and I get my new-used factory chrome clad rims) - 275/40/20 and 295/40/20

The only thing my car has is an icon on the dash that chimes if a tire is low. There isn't anything in EVIC that actually tells you the actual tire pressure.

I'm running the 275/40's Hankooks on SRT wheels with stock R/T suspension. It wasn't possible if I hadn't used spacers on the front. See sig for pics of tires.
Note: Well maybe not the best picture of the tires, sorry.

The spacers are really a wheel thing and not a tire thing. You can run 275/40s on non-SRT wheels without the spacers.

There are a lot of tires out there in this size, 275-40-20. Check out this site. They seem to have the best selection. They've got 23 different tires in this size.

I have Toyo Proxes 4 in 275/40/20 and 245/45/20 on my car. No comment yet on wear, etc on such a heavy car, but I have had them on 2 smaller lighter cars and they do an excellent job in both the wet and dry!

I have 15-17k miles on my Hankook Ventus ST RH06 275/40 R20 106W. Wet weather isn't as good as some of the softer tires, which should be obvious since it is a harder compound and i expected that. Tread wear is very good and high speed stability and cornering is just dandy. I've cut multiple 1.95x 60ft's this summer on them and have over 75 track passes on them with plenty of tread left. That's saying something if anyone saw my fenders at LX Nationals in Ohio. I have no doubts i will get another 40K+ miles out of them before i have to even think about replacements even with the occasional burnout. I can absolutely recomend these tires to anyone in the market. (i got them for $107 per tire from Tires-easy.com)
