So, my low tire light has been coming on, and I was like "Ah, my tire is a bit low." No big deal, I'll get to it monday...

So today, I pull into work, and get out only to hear a very audible 'hiss' sound. The tire went flat in the parking lot.

So I call up my buddy who's pretty savvy with everything automotive, and I have him come air up my tire, and take my car to fix it.

He calls me up and basically tells me that I'm ****ed, and there's a crack in the inner sidewall of the tire. Basically, it's coming apart where it was glued when manufactured...

THEN he tells me that that's not the worst part.

There's about a gallon of water sloshing around inside my spare tire compartment.

Know what else is in that compartment?

My battery... as well as some electronic controller box thingy-ma-bob.

Sad, sad day.

So, tomorrow I get to go into the GM dealership here (As I purchased my car at a GM dealership, and bought an extended warranty, since mine went out 2 days before I purchased the car) to have them figure out why there's a swimming pool in my battery/spare tire compartment.

Hopefully I can find a set of tires cheap, 'cause rolling on this black donut is disgusting.

In other news:

I've discovered another Magnum in PIttsburg. It's white, and has like 20-22 inch chrome wheels on it; however, judging from the crystal clear windows all around, I'm assuming it's the base model.

Also, a friend of a friend bought a new R/T Challenger. If I had realized it was his when they were talking I would've pointed him here.

Oh well.

Anyway, it sucks, 'cause now I have to buy new tires with my tax money, instead of the predator I was going to buy. :(

Woe is me!

I got a good deal on my tires (all 4) at Tire Town in Shawnee KS. Maybe you could get a good deal too & maybe you only need to buy 2 tires instead of all 4 at this time. It may be a drive for you, but it's worth a shot...considering I paid more than $200 less than buying my 20" tires at other tire places. Just a thought.

I'm gonna go price them at a place here in town tomorrow, and then I may call that place as well. I'd like to not go broke buying rubber.

From the research I've done, it looks like I can get 2 Goodyear Assurance Comfortred's for about a bill a piece. It'd be nice if I could knock that down to 80ish or less....but we'll see.

ALSO:

IF anyone knows anything about this water in the spare department, let me know! As I said, I'm gonna take it in tomorrow, but just in case they give me some generic blow-off answer.

use a shop vac and get the water out ASAP. get them to leak test the trunk area, especially around the taillamps.

Sorry to hear about that man. Check Wisemans for your tire prices. They always take real good care of me.

Battery and rear fuse box in the back is normal, but the water isn't.

Where did you see the white Magnum? I haven't seen that, although I've seen a white 300 with pink headlights running around.

I would SO rock pink headlights. lol

It was at the mall when I was working the other day. It picked up a bunch of middle-school age kids (you know, they run the mall on Fri/Sat nights).

I went to Wisemans, and they didn't have the tire for my car.. They had one that would fit, but I didn't want two different types of tires.

I ended up going to Kansasland, and a guy there got me fixed up.

After taking the tire off of the rim, we discovered that this 'crack' wasn't new at all, and that the sidewall of the tire had been patched (which I'm pretty sure is illegal). So, the guy hooked me up; he went and got one of my tires from the back, slapped it on, and told me to have a nice day.

Definitely one of the best customer service experiences I've ever had in my life. He could've been an ******* and told me I had to buy a new tire, but what he did instead is what was right - assisting a customer with a malfunctoning product by replacing it free of charge.

It was awesome.

I'm heading into Molle next week to get the leak situation looked at, as well as getting my passenger side "auto-up" switch fixed, as it seems to have stopped working.

I love my car - I don't love spending money on repairs for a car I've had less than a month.

So, luckily this whole tire situation worked out well. Now as long as they can get my switch fixed and stop the water leaking, we'll be good to go.

I got my foglights today, btw - they don't have ballasts.

What's that mean?

it's your rear hatch seal strip and you just need the nuts to crimp your seal DOWN

I have had the water issue. In my case it was wicking UP the tail gate seal into a open seam in the rear valance. It took about 3 hours to find it using a hose and taking various parts of the car apart and testing.

Fixed using body sealer along the seams the seal sits on, been a non issue since.

Good luck
