That and everything is still snowed in. Can't really get close to any of the tracks for photo ops...But, I would have a KILLER dirty car pic to submit if that was the theme for the month! :panic:

I'm glad I got my pic when I did. It snowed Saturday & got real cold. I can deal with the snow better than I can handle the cold.

Can we change our submission, or are we set once we submit our picture??? I got some pretty decent shots, but I wanna try to get some other shots on the other sides of Lambeau. If we aren't allowed to switch once we submit, I'll just hold off for a few days since we still have time.

You can change your submission after you have put up a pic, but you just need to let everyone know in a NEW post that "this one is replacing my earlier entry". We have done that in the past if we got a better shot before the contest ended. But remember it needs to be in a new post and not replace your prior pic!

Ok thanks. I'm just gonna wait to put my pic up. Just easier that way, so there's no confusion.

The only reason I asked is because it's not "photoshopping" at all in the terms that most of us think of "photoshopping". If I were so inclined, I could do the same adjustments in a darkroom with no computer programs at all...hell, I don't even use photoshop.
Pic swapped, unless anybody has anything else to say.
Edit: I left my picture up and I'm citing precedent in previous Monthly Photo Contests. November 2008 was won under the same rules by a photograph with saturation turned down. I'm not trying to step on any toes here, and if we can determine that saturation adjustments are in fact in violation of the rules, I'll gladly swap for the original, but I truly believe that saturation falls under the same range of adjustment as brightness and contrast. I believe that the intent of Rule #5 is to prevent people from photoshopping their car onto a baseball field, adding mods that aren't present, etc. Please, anybody offer debate here.

We've always had a little gray area with this one. I think where we've tried to draw the line is 1) whether or not the camera can do that same effect through onboard settings, and 2) if the effect is applied to the entire photograph, not just a section of it.
Color adjustments, I think we've mostly agreed, are OK to a point - if you're using selection tools that's a no-go.
So I think that according to how we've balanced this one historically, your shot's fine.
(How's that for a clear answer!? )

Thank you very much. My camera can do all the adjustments that I did through it's own menus and whatnot, I just find it easier to apply the adjustments at home through Aperture (aperture can't do anything that you can't do in a darkroom anyway). I appreciate the clarification here, as I'm sure others do. I am however, after further review, going to enter the original shot anyway, because now that I've had time, I think it looks better :blam:

Well, I washed the car and finally got a chance to test out some of my new filters for my DSLR camera - I used the 8-point star filter on this one:

I was originally going to just have a track/dragstrip theme, but not sure how many folks lived around tracks. I thought sports complexes were more frequent, but I think tracks fit into the theme....it's a sport!

Thanks Justin! We tried the Fishercats Stadium (Mercantsauto.com Stadium) on Saturday just outside the gate, but the sun was not in the correct position. We would have shot directly into the sun, so thought of the dragway instead.

darlep it is pretty unusual, that is what a lot of folks here thought when they wanted to purchase the team from Albuquerque, and moved it to Rio Rancho just across the river, they are struggling, but we try to support them as much as we can,
and once again

LOL! I tried Merchantsauto.com stadium first too! I just couldn't find a good location so I said to hell with it and went over the the Verizon. One of my buddies is pretty good friends (free seats kinda good friends) with the GM of Gillette Stadium's daughter, but I found out about this contest too late to be able to drive my car onto the field there :(...that would have been something.
