I'm just starting to install these rotors and i couldn't figure out which direction is the correct way. I've read some articles about installing them by going in the direction of the internal fins which on the SRT stock rotors & R1's you cant really tell which direction they are facing......Any quick advise will be much apreciated.:banghead:

slots should face \ \ \ bottom of the slot should hit the caliper first...

It's more important to know what direction the internal vanes are (if there are any) before you worry about the external slots.

The internal vanes on these run straight up and down.

My assumption in picking which side the rotors go on in the photo below was that the slots are angled to throw off water and dust when the car is moving forward.
Is that right?

I got an answer from R1Concepts and they said since the internal fins on the rotors have no actual direction they can be installed either way.

Since, you have straight vanes it really does not matter, next you look at the direction of the slots.

Which direction should the discs rotate?
It is a popular misconception that drillings in a disc determine the direction of rotation. In truth, for an internally vented drilled disc, the geometry of the vanes dictates the direction of rotation. There are three vane types in use:
- Pillar vane (comprised of many small posts)
- Straight
- Curved vane The first two vane types are non-directional, and can be used on either side of the vehicle. The curved vane disc, however, is directional. A curved vane disc must be installed with the vanes running back from the inside to the outside diameters in the direction of rotation. Orienting the disc in the manner creates a centrifugal pump. The rotation of the disc causes air to be pumped from the center of the disc, through the vanes, and out through the outside diameter of the disc. This greatly enhances the disc’s ability to dissipate heat. Additionally, all of Brembo’s slotted discs are directional, regardless of the vane geometry. The discs should be installed such that the end of the slot nearest the outer edge of the disc contacts the pad first.

So according to your last sentence, the disc's in the photo below should be switched to the other side.
