So I have been having this on going problem that comes and goes. Some weeks it isn't there at all, then I will hit a bump in the road or the temperature will be just right, and wa-la it will be there. What happens is when I turn the wheel right or left, even by the slightest amount, it makes a small clicking and/or snapping, creaking noise. The noise is inside the cabin of the car. It almost sounds like a static click. If I am on a bumpy road, the steering wheel/steering column will also click and snap a lot. Usually if I let the car sit for 12 - 14 hours and get back in it the snapping and clicking will be gone until I hit another large pothole in the road (sometimes you just can't avoid them). Does anyone know what this could be? Thanks very much in advance.

Sounds like it could be ur clockspring.they tend to break in the center and small pieces break off contacting the multi-function switch.
