:panic:Okay, gang...just as promised, here is the information for the Spring Meet & Greet of 2009.

April 4, 2009 from 11AM to 3PM

***Olathe Dodge***
15500 W 117th Street
Olathe, KS 66062

The dealer will be supplying us with lunch & a very high profile location. :wink:
They will run an add for our Meet & Greet two weeks before the meet & put out balloons while we are there to attract spectators.
There will be some drawings for door prizes.

I have a professional photographer for the event, and as a special treat, Sevenernine & the rest of his band will be performing live for us. For those who need it, I called a couple motels in the area for some pricing. Here's what I have at this time...

Econo Lodge @ 7508 W 63rd Street, phone # 913-262-9600. Room rates are $49.99 per nite for a queen bed & $59.99 for 2 double beds. They offer a continental breakfast, blow dryer, coffee maker & are located next door to Steak N Shake, Quik Trip & a car wash.
Extended Stay @ 8015 Lenexa Drive, phone # 913-894-5550. They told me that for a room for two adults for two nites would cost $136 (around $59.99 a nite) with a queen bed. They have laundry facilities on site & a kitchen in each room. They are located just up the street from a 24 hour WalMart.

***Note: for those who are interested, we can go to a local park for more pics & stuff after the meet & greet. Just a thought.***

I have also invited the local classic muscle car group, HPAC to join us. I am hoping for a big turnout from them as well. I think it will be awesome to have our modern LXs with the classics for this meet. :rock:

Now that it's break time, I have time to type a thing or two. There are some of us who would like to have something to do while at the Meet & Greet. Well, I was kinda thinking the same thing. I understand that not everyone wants to just stand around checking out cars & talking. Totally understandable. So here is my thought...

My ideas for things to do are in line with:
maybe a beanbag toss game or something like that...for fun.
or have something for spectators to fill out with which car they think is the best in a particular catigory...like, maybe, "best restored car", or "best looking magnum", "most orgiginal mods", that sort of thing, then have maybe a plaque or something for the winners.
there will be door prizes drawn every so often with each prize better than that last one

Those are some of my ideas so far. I don't know how many things we'll be able to do, or what exactly we will settle on for activities, but we'll do something. I don't think the dealer wants us to be doing a burnout contest. :wink:

If anyone wants to post up their ideas or opinions, I welcome them. I will be in contact with the dealer every week to keep them updated on what we have going on. So let me know your thoughts on this. Thanks Bogart, for suggesting it. :)

of course like after the show or so and its not like most people are going to be leaving after the show so they will be staying a night or so and are we going to hook up the next day or we could do something that nigh til real late or whatever someone esle has an idea.

You had to go and put it right in my backyard didn't you. I'll do my best to make an appearance, may even get the wife and kids to come depends on the weather as we'll have a 1 month old baby.

As far as things to do:
-Anyone have R/C cars we could race in the lot? Maybe set up a small course etc? I don't unfortunately, but maybe others do?
-If people are staying overnight etc. the Saddlers indoor go-kart track is at most 2 miles from Olathe Dodge.
-There is a "mobile detailer" guy that lives in my neighborhood, maybe he'd be willing to put on a "how to detail your car" seminar.
-How about we get ProCharger to donate a supercharger and install it on my car that day? (I REALLY like this idea)
-anyone have an in on the blow up jumping houses for the kids to bounce around in?
-Hooters girls providing car washes
-hula hoop contest
-prize for the person who drove the shortest distance :)
-we could burn my Grand Caravan in effigy (as long as Olathe Dodge then gives me a 2009 fully loaded)
-we could all get oil changes at Olathe Dodges "fast lane"

Those are just off the top of my head, but I think I have some real winners in there somewhere.

I personally think you have several winners in there...Although the procharger thing is a good idea it's just on the wrong car :wink: The blow up bouncer idea is a real winner since it sounds like people will be bringing their families...I like the hooters girls idea if they will pose for pictures with my car and bring free wings...A detailing siminar would be cool since I'm somewhat new to the car scene and learning but others might find it useless...Definatly some good idea's though...Oh and I have a battery powered RC monster truck my cousin gave me so I could bring it although it's nice for a battery powered RC it's nothing like the gas powered ones...But we need to be away from the cars since I've only driven it about 10 minutes...

This could be fun! I have several hobby grade R/C vehicles. (Custom build rock crawler, custom build Jeep Liberty, stadium truck, a few other cars) I guess I should get my AAR Cuda painted and bring that though huh? :wink:

I also know the owner of saddlers indoor go kart track it's Phil Saddler...It used to be called nascart until nascar threatened a law suit if he didn't change the name...I could try to call up there and ask for a group discount if we can get a head count...Although I haven't talked to him in a couple years it's worth a shot...I'm pretty sure I'll be able to make it to the M&G...I'm not sure yet rather I'll have 2 or 3 for a head count...

I really like this idea too only maybe we would need to tweak it a bit to ohhh say combining it with the prize for the person who drove the shortest distance and just make it - We install the ProCharger on the person who drives an Inferno Red 2007 Charger R/T the shortest distance... yeah, I REALLY like this idea too!!!

I only wanted this to be a kid & family friendly event. No reason to have it any other way.

I am meeting with my photographer later this week. I'll let everyone know when I seal the deal with him for our meet. I don't see any problems with it at all.

I will talk to the dealer about the idea of a blow-up bouncer thingy for the kids. No guarantees on that...it depends on if they want to put it on their lot. The other BIG factor is the cost of renting one. It was an idea that I think is worth at least checking into.

It's been said that maybe we could all roll into the dealer together, but I think that will be very hard to do with everyone coming from different places around. However, I think maybe we can roll out together when it's over. We could all go to Shawnee Mission Park & maybe get some more pics, if I can seal the deal on my photographer for that as well. If not, most of us should have cameras to take out own pics.

Those are the things I'll be working on when I'm not working... :wink: I just wanted to update everyone.

There are 2 new members here who have never posted. Met sevenernine today, he just picked up an 06 Black Magnum R/T, and rclutter just got an 06 (I think) Charger. Both have indicated they'd think about the meet, depending on what's up with their schedules on that day.

":panic:Okay gang...I talked with the dealer again today. We had a very good conversation. First, let me just say that as my contact is selling Challys, he is telling them to bring their Challys back for the event. :thumbs_u: They have someone who will BBQ some hotdogs & burgers for us that day.

Now, for the big news... I have an inflatable bouncy house thingy for the little children!!! :rock:

We will have door prizes/raffels thru the day. :beerchug:
We will have some R/C racing for all those who bring their R/C cars. :beerchug:

I'm getting/making a beanbag toss game for those who may want to play. :beerchug:

We will have the spectators vote on our cars in 5 different categories & an award plaque will be given to the winners. :beerchug:

I was trying to find the intercom so i could announce "will the owner of the plum krazy charger please report to the service desk" but to no avail. Then the kid got cranky and i had to bail.

I haven't been able to get a hold of the detail guy, but still trying so no word on that possibility yet.

Other than that you've done a great job getting this thing set up!

Yeah...the Daytona was at the dealer Friday...but I was at work. Had them take me back to work while they had the Daytona for a seat repair. I'm getting ready to leave work now to take it back to the dealer so I can get my install done!!!! :wink: I can't wait!!!!!!!:banana:

*SIGH* My sister-in-law is due to have her baby around April 1st, so my wife has decided to go to see her in N. Carolina from the 31st of March-6 April. That means, no magnum for me.... I'm depressed now. So it seem as if I will not be attending, my apologies. If the baby comes early or something, or she cuts the trip short, I will let you guys know ASAP. For now, I'm going to go cry in a cold shower.
How unfortunate too, I just ordered my SLP mufflers today and will be putting them on next week, now I don't have an opportunity to show those off.

As of right now, I am working on getting the award company to do the awards for us. I have worked on how I think they should look & just need to meet with them Monday after work so they can be made. I would have done it this week, but I was busy modding a bit here & there. :wink:

I also have my photographer lined up for the good pics of all our rides. :rock:

The time to meet at Cracker Barrel is not set in stone...and you don't have to be there at any particular time either. I can scope out some DIY car washes in the area if you want. If we get to the dealer before 11am, there will be time to finish up the cars. I will do my final detailing at the dealer, most likely. We'll help you out as much as we can. :thumbs_u:

Thanks for the info on what's around the area. I use a carwash @ SanteFe & Shawnee Mission Pkwy, cuz it's close to the house. I hose the car down & do all my detailing at home with my good stuff. But, I'm sure there will be places for cars to be cleaned up before the meet, if needed.

hey guys i got a job and it is night shift but i really want to come to the m&g, and we will most likely work sat. so i might have to leave early and drive all the way back to work sat night. witch is at 4:30 so i would have to leave buy 1:30 to make it back. because i have about 3 hour drive. and i dont know if it is worth it. what do you guys think??

but i just got the job today so i dont know what their schedual has been like but they do work saturdays to make quantatie, like sometimes 6 hours or less ??? idk.but if i remember if dayshift makes quantatie then night shift dont have to come in i think. i deff will keep you posted i start monday so we will see.:(

well it is very competative for a job right now. the reason that i havnt worked in 3 months is that the first interview was off because their were so many people their and this time i was the fist person their to get an interview and i sat their for 2 hours waiting because i really wanted this job and i got it with eaz, (it is my 2 years of experiance to even be consitored for USDA inspector that i need to have to become USDA>

Olathe Dodge is providing hamburgers & hotdogs for us & we get a very high profile spot on their lot to show our cars. There will be door prizes, awards & the first 50 cars that show up that day get a dash plaque for the event :wink:

Huhhhh.....I got a lot of **** to do before the 4th. I got a blackout to put on, some LED tails, Double Din head unit install, Daytona spoiler, some cuda stripes, and I got to get some rims lol....I refuse to ride stock this time around. Oh and I need to get my bumper fixed. Not sure if you guys remeber but I hit a freaking possum on the highway and it cracked the lower corner. Do any of you guys know a body shop that can repair urethane? My insurance company said I could file a comprehensive claim and have it done that way, but I don't wanna spend $500 on that if I can get it done way cheaper than that. Oh the Insurance company is talking about a complete replacement.

I wanted to update everyone as to what is going on with the "Where-the-Middle-Meets Face to Face" meet & greet on April 4th. :) It's getting very close! :panic:

:)All cars showing will get a ticket for the door prize drawings. You must be present to win door prizes.
:)The first 50 cars to show up will get a commemorative dash plaque.
:)There will be a special drawing for a Ported Throttle Body for a 5.7 or 6.1 Hemi, complements of HerDaytona & Billet Technology. You must be present to win.
:)The spectators will be able to vote on our cars. The awards are done & look great!
:)After the meet, around 3pm, I was thinking we could cruise to Shawnee Mission Park, for those who want to.

:wink: Don't forget to bring your R/C cars. We can have some fun racing them :beerchug:

I am going to get some flyers printed up to put in local shops. The dealer will also put an add in the local paper. Word of mouth goes a long way also.
I will get in contact with Cracker Barrel for a place to meet in the morning before the meet for those who would like to meet up before we go to the dealer. I'll let you know how that goes.
I have also placed an order for sunny, 70 degree weather for that day. One can only hope that it's not on back order. :roll:

well I keep getting errors and cant load any tune on it... talking with another diablo user they had to have there pcm updated then all worked as it should...

I am going to try and work out what I can before the meet but I may just have to bring the tuner with me and see about loading it there. :)

I went to Cracker Barrel today to talk to management about meeting there in the morning before the Meet & Greet. They are fine with it, but she said we have to be on our best behavior. :wink: They open at 6am, so we can't get in before then.

The only thing going on April 3rd is that some of the "out-of-towners" were coming over to our place for some snacks & socializing for a bit. Other than that...nuthin' else is going on that I know of.

Well, the "meet" is at 11am, it's about a 4 minute or so drive, say an hour at most to eat. I'd think 9am would be about right? That would leave some time for some touchup in the parking lot before the roll over to the dealership.

*Crackle Barrell down the street (off 119th street) in Olathe is where some are meeting.
*The first 50 at the car show get the dash plaques, hats, etc.
