So I'm cleaning my engine bay the other day, and got to wondering, could the Vortech aftercooler be remounted "inline" with the normal intake path?

I saw on Vortech's website they configure that aftercooler a lot of different ways for different applications. Side entry, end entry, etc.

Can't really take advantage of valve covers and stuff with the aftercooler in the stock location. I think it would be a better path too instead of making a 90 deg. turn, a 180 inside the cooler, and another 180 to the intake it could be straight from the head unit, into the aftercooler, and one 90 to the throttle body.

Anyone tried this yet?

Are you thinking of putting the vortech intercooler kind of like how the g.s. intercooler goes??

I guess you could use the mustang style cooler and mount it somehow inline, but you would need to fab smething to hold it, and not sure it would clear the pullies etc

I'm not familiar with the GS setup.

I'm wondering if someone has put the aftercooler in front of the engine so the air intake path is pretty much stock. Maybe the pulleys are in the way.

I guess anything is possible if you got enough money.
