So... when I bought/ordered my car, almost 35K miles ago, I opted to put the "protection" package on which had the Continental run flats put on the car... Turns out they are horrible tires and are very bald (class action suit that I was 100 miles off from being able to join)...

The dealer quoted me $850 to $1,000 bucks to replace the tires...

That is ridiculous (at least to me)...

The dealer told me that he didn't care whether I went thru them or somewhere else, just don't ever get continentals again...

Does anyone have a suggestion of a place in Northern IL that has good deals and reputation, AND/OR suggestions on new tires to get that aren't crap like the last ones? It is a daily driver, no track, no street racing, no towing etc, just normal car use.

Tire Rack or Discount Tires. Try the Dunlop Signature in 225/60/18" and for a better slightly fatter tire the General Grabber UHP's in 255/55/18's. Check out the ratings at Tire Rack's web site, then shop around. Have a 4 wheel alignment done when you get the new tires. The Signatures are very good tires, the Grabbers are the best rain tires I've ever driven on!

Discounttiredirect.com has tires in that size as low as $110 ea. Sounds to me like the dealer is gouging you. As well, you can check your local Sam's Club.
