Anyone running 255/35s?

I was just curious if anyone has ran 255/35/20s and if you have pics? I'm looking into purchasing a set of Contintental ContiExtremeContacts, but this appears to be the closest size available.

I do have a Predator so I can quick adjust for the height difference, but I was curious as to how the ride was and if there's a large gap caused by the difference in height. My Maggie is lowered with KWv1s.

These tires are 2" inches shorter than stock so you are going to be lowered another inch. For me that translated to 3" off stock and you can pretty much guarantee that you will not be able to go into some driveways or down some roads without scraping. I've tried it and, sometimes when I am driving back from the track and lazy, I haven't changed back to street wheels and my oh my its hairy.

Ride comfort is unquestionably compromised. Noise is increased on bumps.

While some say the car looks goofy like this, lower it this far down and it does look more serious and meaner. I consider this to be a performance-only option and would not recommend it on the street if your car is lowered as much as mine. Note I also have a custom exhaust system designed to allow max clearance down low... and its still a big problem.

Notice in the above shot that my mudflaps are gone? They got chewed off cuz they were too low onto the ground, and had to be removed.

This is with V2's dropped 2" and tightened all the way down, and Hotchkis bars. You will have to work to get this kind of compression.

Thank you! Very informative post. I think I'll cease my search at this point. Although I'm not quite as low as you are, I'm fairly close and the roads here are terrible.

As is I need to stagger a couple of planks of wood to get a jack underneath. Definitely a hot looking car though :thumbs_u:

No sweat. The tires are great for track use. Note the tires don't rub at all in the fender wells even at extreme cornering. You get a mild gearing boost to acceleration thanks to the short diameter. Dropping the car another inch is good for cornering. I use 140-treadwear AA traction Bridgestone Pole Positions and they are the absolute best track tire for our car imho.

But on the street? Not so much :-)

I didn't realize you drove 35 series tires on the track... I got 35s on my front and was concerned about driving as aggressive as before on the Street.... going down the straight line...it has been no problem .... but now that I know...hehe :mrgreen:

These tires are splendid... on the track. However you can see a pretty nasty rollover going on with the passenger side front. However that is an incredibly harsh turn. Coming off the front straight and going into a hairpin after a downhill deceleration. And the turn is unbanked. The cameraman is leaning to give the picture a more racy look, I guess. The pic is Turn 2 at Laguna and you can see its flat as a table in the videos I posted.

The hot pressure for good track tire wear is 44 psi. I was a couple pounds low that day due to cool temps and got a little extra wear as a result. Probably right on that corner.
