The is a lot of information in countless forum threads on here about 2005-2006 LXs ...very little about 2007 and practically nothing about 2008s. It's hard to tell if any of the old stuff still applies to the new cars. where can i go to get accurate production numbers about 2008 Magnum SRT8s only?

How many made?
How many made of each of the 4 colors?
First Magnum SRT8 sequence number?
Last Magnum SRT8 sequence number?

Is there a number at Chrysler corporation who keeps this info or where does it come from?

Chrysler rarely likes to give this type of information out. But I think I can come up with some of what you are looking for in the next week or so...

Ouch!!! With their scarcity it seems that they would hold their value a little bit better...

Can't thank you enuff for the info....of course it now presents the big dilema. Why would I use my one of 232 SRT8s built for a daily driver?....lol. guess i will be lookin for a beater real soon before the snow gets here (well in as much as it does snow sometimes in atlanta).

I bought my TorRed SRT8 on Sept 27, 2008 from a dealer in NY who had just bought it from the Chrysler action in Detroit the month before. It has 78 miles on it and was listed to belong to Chrylser Special Vehicles in Auburn Hills, MI. I was told it was used on the show car circuit...hence the low miles. It was built on Nov 5th, 2007 and is sequence number 8H120398.

Can't wait to see how many TorRed ones there are.

Is there any rhyme, reason or pattern to the sequence numbers? 100136 makes sense to start out but how do you end up with 272021? I would have expected all Magnums to run sequentially start to finish, but that doesnt add up either. Maybe all LX platforms used the same sequential sequence numbers? I think all the Magnums were built in Brampton?, but were there other LX platforms built there? Or maybe they used a difference sequence start point if built in another plant?......hell i dont know.........do you?........and thanks for the info.

The sequence numbers, and the actual production, are mixed between all models at the plant - the 300, Charger, Magnum, and Challenger. At times there are large batches of sequential numbers for the same model, and other times they are scattered all over the place. The VIN numbers are assigned based on lots of different factors, including when orders are received from the dealers and also depending on options that are ordered.

Vehicles could never really be efficiently built in VIN order as a lot of factors come into play like parts availability. That's why, for example, that when a special "numbered" edition is produced they attach the plaques at random. Charger Super Bee with plaque "No. 0001" was not the first one built, nor would "No. 1000" necessarily be the last one built.

My car was built in December 2007. I bought it right off the truck with only 4 miles on it. No test drives. It was built as a dealership order from Jim Click Dodge. My car's twin in black was also built for Jim Click Dodge and delivered to the dealership one week later. It has a vin that's last digit is one lower than mine. My vin ends in 2 and my twin's vin ends in 1. The thing about it is vins cannot be that close. The check digit (ninth digit in) must also be different. My ninth digit is 6 so my twin's ninth digit is 4.

If I check the variance of the last digit of my vin against the www.dodge.com (http://www.dodge.com) website I find this.

0 - Dodge Charger SE
1 - Dodge Magnum R/T (Black) my car's twin.
2 - Dodge Magnum R/T (White) my car.
3 - Dodge Magnum SE
4 - Dodge Magnum SE
5 - Dodge Magnum R/T
6 - Dodge Magnum SRT-8
7 - Not a valid vin
8 - Dodge Magnum SE
9 - Dodge Magnum SE

The SE's could also be SXT's. I don't think the website distinguishes the 2.

Yours was the 182nd one built out of 232.
It was the 157th US retail model built.
It was the 4th built of the 5 that shipped to Ohio.
After yours, only 50 more were built.
Yours was one of the last 40 built for the U.S. market.

Let's bring this back,
I have one of the last 638 08' R/Ts... My question is (if it's possible) how do I find out how many of the R/Ts had the 29R (road and Track package) on them?????

Just curious, does any know how the overall production figures compare say to something like a Sebring or an Impala?

I'd be interested to know the numbers from 2005. I have an AWD R/T Magnum that was a Jan/05 build.

I would buy one for parts if it had a good nose. You got one?

Yup... that "8H" in the middle of the VIN will give it away every time. I hope it wasn't the one someone else posted the other day from eBay.... that one looked like it was pretty much gone....

Does anyone with an 08 have the Chrome Clads? I think I like them better than the Challenger style wheels.

My 08' R/T with the road and track package came with the Chrome Clads and I like them because they're easy to maintain, but I kind of always liked just about any 5 spoke pattern mag wheels.

anybody know what's the final production numbers for SE and SXT's??

From ResumeSpeed's previous post.

2008 Magnum - all models

Production total: 16,052

2008 Magnum - SRT8

Production total: 240

2008 Magnum - R/T

Production total: 840

So if you take 16,052 and subtract out 240 for the SRT's and 840 for the R/T's you get 14,972 SE's and SXT's.

so there was only 205 RT AWDs made in 08? I do wonder what it could be worth in 20 years? Less RT AWD's made than the MSRT8s

Crazy that I drive this car so much, its gong to have a bazillion miles by that time......
