The Good:
Well-made unit that fits well.
The oiled foam filtration should do a great job of keeping out the crud.
The Bad:
No instructions were supplied in the test unit, but there's not much to the install.
Without instructions, I could not determine how to separate the two parts of the canister to swap the filter. There are four screws securing it, but removing those did not let the two parts come apart. I did not take any pry tools to the seam, because it is not my own unit. Not sure what the procedure is for taking the unit apart to clean/swap the filter element.
COMMENTS:
This line of intakes seems to be big in the truck crowd - and it's called an "extreme duty" intake. My gut feeling is that this is not a performance intake, but rather a harsh environment intake. If you're driving dusty roads with regularity, this may be a good choice for you.
We were not able to test this unit with its own elbow - as it was not in the kit when we received it. The tests were done with a similar elbow, and as such, cannot be reported as official MFO results.
