Ok, I got the answer I needed regarding me putting 20's on my Magnum.

Here are the wheels I've chosen:

http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y109/TMagnum/Boss304.jpg

Now the tire that my dealer is suggesting is the Nitto 255/45 R20 105V as shown here.

http://www.nittotire.com/tires_420s.asp

But having read a few of the post here about different tire heights and then somewhere here I believe I read the stock conti's are 28.6" , I started having problems with his choice of tire.

The Nitto (fully inflated) stands at 29.13"

My Conti TouringContact P225/60 R18 with 36 lbs of air stand at 27.5" and I don't think I'll get another 1" of height to the 28.6" mark by over-inflating to 40 lbs. Unless I'm wrong, which is highly possible.

Really wanted to move to the BF Goodrich g-forch tire but was told the correct height would not be achieved.

The only reason I'm trying to maintain the desired height is to keep the ESP from annoyingly flashing.

Oh, and I have NO intensions of lowering the car. (at least not for now, lol)

Advice anyone.

Unfortunately, your dealer may be right... there aren't many tires in that size.

When I punch that size into the 1010Tire Calculator (http://www.1010tires.com/TireSizeCalculator.asp?action=submit) it shows the Toyo Proxes S/T Tires as the only tire available (which only means that they don't carry Nitto). On the other hand, I have heard good things about the Toyos.

Don't forget to post the pics when you get everything installed! <grin>

Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar in 245x45x20 or 255x45x20 and Goodyear Eagle RS-A in 245x45x20. These are being used on some of the SRT LX cars. Toyo Proxes S/T 255x45x20.

IDSmoker, thanks for that little 10.10 tool that is slick, and by that I see your point and that of the dealer.

I will most certainly post pics as soon as they are installed, which should be around the end of July.

The wheels had to be ordered and I was told it would be 3-4 weeks which probably means more like 4-5 weeks.

That is by far, the nicest looking rim that I have seen for this car.

1. I love the wheels.
2. I have the 255/45/20 Nitto 420S mounted on my wheels. They've been great so far. Don't worry about clearance issues with that front wheel bolt everyone talks about. This tire size gives JUST enough clearance. I definitely would not go any bigger outer diameter, though! I'd stick to the Nitto, the Toyo Proxes S/T or the Goodyear F1 that's on the SRT-8's. Stay away from the 245/45/20 Goodyear Eagle RS-A, its gotten horrible reviews.

I forgot to ask: how wide is that wheel? The 255/45/20 is perfect for an 8.5" wide wheel. If those wheels are 10" wide, I'd go with a wider tire. Let us know.

Let's see some pictures once you have them mounted.

Black on Black, the wheel width is 8.5". ;)

And trust me guys as soon as the wheels show in late July  I'll be sure to post plenty of pic's.

Since we're still waiting :( for the Hot New Wheels to show I thought I'd throw out a before pic of my Sassy Girl before her new shoes show.

This was at the HB meet a few weeks ago.

Tmagnum, nice wheel, what is it and how much?

Your OEM tire height is 28.6" - how could you measure it and get 27.5". I believe you have to measure the tire off the car (unloaded). 4000 pounds resting on you will make you shorter also. :D

Toyo has a new size in the S/T - 255/40/20. It is 28" tall. @ www.1010tires.com (http://www.1010tires.com) for $209.99 each.

I got the Nittos on my C Very nice rides great. Compared to the stock and Falkin 245/40/20 before this there a dream ride. you wont go wrong with them and pluse you can rotate then as needed not like some brands.

Well there finally on, and here are the before and after pics.

Just so theres no confusion the original pic was the only one available and it showed the wheel in the " Super Finish " I went with the " Chrome " finish.

Thanks MMM and no kidding on the road watch, I actually think about the roads I'll be on before I head out just in case I need to re-route myself.

But I do love my girls new slippers. I get people pointing again, that makes it all worth it. 8-)

Those look fantastic. I am looking at the 301's for my SXT. I was concerned with how they fit. Could I get you to post a picture of yours from the rear and front. I want to see how they fit with respect to the edge of the wheel well. Where do they line up? Flush or in a bit?

Thanks,
Pete

i have this tire you can run it at 30 psi
i talked to nitto this tire is very safde at this air pre

i am running 20x9 with this tire no problem
i took my car back to the dealer and they reset the coumpture
for this size there are 6 pre set tire sizes that dodge is offering
they pick the closest one so my speed would read right
and the shift points would be closer then what i had

went from 17 to 20 all is good
