Here is the short story. I was driving to work when I hit a small bump the lip to the clip that holds the visor breaks. I saw it fall and I was like what the FCK!!!! Cheap a$$ $hit. To boot the other one broke the week before when I lowered my visor a few days before. This pisses me off!!!!!!!!!

It sure is cheap. A lot of members have broke theirs including me. If I recall correctly, it was like $15 at the dealer. I believe the new one are stronger then the original.

I ordered the stock ones last week from here:
http://partsformydodge.com/
$4.50 plus shipping. It was cheap though.
I picked up a lever for my rack crossbar ($7.50), 2 visor clips, 2 taillight wing nuts and a charger trunk switch... $30 with $10 shipping. Soooo much better than the dealer.
I'm gonna reinforce them with fiberglass before I install them.
I've heard of people having trouble installing the other 'non-mopar' clips. I don't know if it's true or not, I'm just not taking any chances.
I hope this helps.
Cheers,
Burleson

From the July 2006 Car & Driver Long Term Road Test.
"Also replaced at no cost was a sun-visor retaining clip that we broke. Normally, we'd attribute that to the staff's propensity to manhandle cars, but we eventually broke both of the Magnum's clips, so they may be especially frail."

Mine broke in my old 05 too, had it fixed under warranty. Assuming you're out of warranty?

:panic: I broke this same piece two weeks ago by just lowering it because the sun was in my eyes! Must be a common problem with the el cheapo interior bits.
