I need tires and I am a typical women!!! I want the best bang for my Buck..
Tire Kingdom suggested Sumitomo with a 70,000 mile wear out, any thoughts. I was also looking at Cooper Zeon's same price as Sumitomo but they will probably go to about 40,000:thumbs_u:

Had Sumitomo's on my Mustang, I was pretty happy with them overall. I sold it with them on it, so I don't know how long they lasted.

We have Sumi's on our Camaro. Have had them for a couple of years and they seem to be great tires. It doesn't get driven much so I can't say how long they'll last for you, but they are nice looking and perform well.

Sumitomo is the parent company for Dunlop, Falken, and has a large interest in Goodyear ... they are very good tires.

I checked their website & the only series they have that would fit (255/55/18) are the HTR Sport series.

These are listed as SUV tires.

Hemi Wagon, how do they seem to handle?

I put BFG KDWSs on my Daytona & they SUCK big time!

Poor cold handling & straight line wet/dry traction under any conditions. They are about gone after only 13,000 miles.

I realize that I am a bit hard on tires, but I got 37,000 out of the OEM Michelin Pilots.

Funny this should come up now... I've been looking at buying some high-performance tires for my 18" rims to use for autocross and road courses next year. The Sumitomo HTR Z2 is on my list! It is only about $100 each and has pretty decent reviews... that price alone is worth trying some just for the heck of it! :thumbs_u:

While I have not had any Sumitomos on my Magnum, I did have a set of older HTR+ on my old '01 Stratus R/T coupe. They were great the first year, other than in the winter. However they wore out the second year with only about 18k on them. I know others that have had various other Sumitomo models on their cars and had better luck. I also know of quite a few people that had the same HTR+ model on their cars and they got about 30k out of them. I'm not hard on tires, but mine wore very quickly. I may have just had a bum set, but due to my own personal experience, I will not buy them again.

Thanks MrMopar. That kind of wear is OK for me, as they will be mostly just track tires. And for >$500 for a set of 4, I can buy a new set every year if I need to!
