Okay so I got this killer deal on a set of wheels and tires today and due to my haste I sold my wheels and tires and bought these. They are a set of 20's that are like brand new so great deal. Well I did a test fit on the fronts and found out that I needed a small spacer in the front but other than that they fit great! So I went ahead and bought them and let my other wheels go.

Well............I went to put my new wheels on and the fronts fit fine with the spacers low and behold the rears DO NOT!!!! The tires are slightly wider than my others but the reason for the rub is the wheels themselves sit in more than the stocks so now the tires slightly rub on the BACK OF THE PLASTIC WHEEL WELL TOWARDS THE FRONT OF THE TIRE!!

I guess I am needing the larger 1 inch to 1 1/4 spacer for the back wheels! So you guessed it I am SCREWED!!! I jave my car on stands sittin in the garage with no wheels to put on her!!

Is there any one out there that has a set of spacers that would work for me? It is Sunday tomorrow and I had a hard enough time finding some small spacers today let alone something like this!

PLEASE if there is anyone out there that can help a brother out PM me ASAP!! I would GREATLY APPRECIATE IT!!!!!!!!!

Thanks Hollywood

Where are you located? For future wheels, always check the back space and offset of the wheel. Was it a private purchase or a wheel shop?

Put them on and lower the car. They probably won't rub. Give it a try.

Edit: What kind of wheels and what is the offset?

I know dude it was my bad got caught up in the deal and didn't check the rear but the fronts fit fine so figured there wouldn't be a problem with the rears!

I am in Pittsboro,NC it is the Raleigh Area and it was a private purchase and the guy is coo lso I could get my money back if the wheels do not work but I have already sold my others and they are long gone.

I couldn't even get the wheel on straight it was slighly cocked by a 1/8 of an inch cause it was hitting do you think it would change that much after lowering?

Tell me what wheels they are and offset

Okay but I don't know the offset should I measure them from the inside of the wheel to the back of the plate?

Look at the back of the wheel, Stamped inside somewhere should be the offset. It should look like this ET __ Should say 18 or 20 if you have a rwd car.

Same thing happened to me. After it was on the ground, no rub!

If it says ET34 then its a 34mm offset which is for an awd car not rwd. Which Player wheel is it? Do you know the name or # of the wheel?

No but would it be stamped on the back of the wheel?

Generally speaking most wheels will have what offset they are stamped on them in that manner. Sometimes its not easy to read. Are the wheels pretty clean?

Mid 90 4wd Blazers are hi offset applications which has a range of 34mm to 50mm. Hence the 34 ET stamped on your wheel

Sorry man.

utopiapga
10-25-2008, 11:01 PM
So you couldn' space the backs even though the fronts fit fine?

You would have to us at least a 14 mm adapter in order to get those down to a 30mm offset. Thats a little over a 1/2" In order to do that you would either have to buy an adapter or if you could find an 1/2 spacer (not recommended) you will definately need to get longer studs. I do not recommend using a spacer that large.

The problem is the right offset for a rwd car is 18- 20mm. You have a 34mm wheel so you only have a 14-16 mm difference in what you need. Most wheel adapters are at least 1" in thickness. 1" equals about 25.4 mm which is way to much. You either have to have a custom 1/2 spacer built or you can change out your wheel studs to longer ones and use (2) 1/4 spacers. Like I said I wouldn't recommend doing this but I don't know what else to tell you to do. Why don't you try 2 1/4 spacers on the rear and then retest fit the wheel and see if you clear everything. If you do then try to find longer studs and go from there.

Okay thanks so much for your help and I do have 4 1/4 in spacers and I will try that tomorrow and see if it works. If it does I may have to get 2 more spacers for the front but there is still plenty of thread to double up the back I guess I will see how that works for now.

Don't know what else to do, sure as heel don't have the money to go buy new wheels and tires..............guess that is what I get for tryin to get a killer deal, they do look good and are in EXCELLENT condition wheels & tires!

Thanks again!!

Just don't slap on those spacers and call it a day. You need to have enough thread left showing on the studs to make sure you get a good bite on the lugs,

Nice wheels, what was the outcome, did your spacers fit? Ernie, I'm still trying to get some $$ saved for some wheels, it's taking longer than anticipated. Maybe by spring time.
