pmed DMAG, like it says to, on Saturday night when I got back from Lawrence. Thomstud and I talked about it and I think our "little club" is ready. (haven't heard anything)
The discription should be what Chris came up with. "Where the middle meets"
The region is probably SE Nebraska, SW Iowa, eastern Kansas, western Missouri. Or "tornado alley"
As for a fee, no. I would like to have everyone have a LXCentral sticker though, but not required.

Ryan, I'll check with the sticker guy. As for the banner, we have some creative people here. If you have an idea for a banner post it and everyone can vote.

For the line over the banner - might I suggest : "the only way we could get Ryan (imahemi) to drive more than 5,000 miles a year"

I'd consider a sticker, but am not a fan of the current one. I don't like the font on Central, the big gap between LX and Central, nor the way Central leans to the right. But that's just one mans opinion.

there are lots of politics that need to be figured out if this is gonna be an "official " club that the head guys are gonna have to decide on . By official i mean if you are gonna do any "for profit" events , car shows or cruises. If the club is never gonna make money for profit, then it makes things a lot easier. However fees are part of the decision also. I've started and help run over 5 clubs. things that will have to be decided

for profit?
if no

What will the club benefit?
will we get sponsors and discounts for members?
how many meets a year?
do we wanna put on a show?
if so, not for profit, what would be our charity?

if yes

corporate, llc, ?
club must be insured to put on events on any property not insured by a business?
hq members will have ssn numbers on all club bank accounts. this includes a min of 3 people in a corporation which is the treas, vp and p
these people will also have to do taxes on the club every year
this will mandate club fees

rules

yes

what are they?
who decides them?
who enoforces them?
And the punishments/banning of members?

no

n/a

membership?

is anyone with an lx accepted?
if not who decides?
Who has the power to drop a member?

You have to remember this also. Whereas the first thing people say is "sure everyone can be in" you have to remember there will be people you do not want representing the club. They could be drunk drivers, criminals, idiots, or anyone that embarrasses the club and represents it at the same time.

This is just the tip of the iceberg.

You're absolutely right there, I think for starters it should be a "non-profit" club, making any of the money brought in For club usage to set up events Make Banners, pay for equipment to be used, food for get togethers....

All LX owners welcome as the original Idea was, but I know that If I was to see s/o with a Sticker on the window acting in a manner Un-befitting a member, we would have to figgure out a punishment sort, banning if the infraction was deep enough

A "Cabinet" so to speak would have to be made, Pres, Vice-Pres, Secretary, etc

# of events would be set, but in the stage we are at right now I'm not sure we are ready to set that # as we dont have many Venues or # of members totally hashed out yet...

Many things need to be discussed before we really get our own section, IMO

As for the Logo, The letters being too far apart can be fixed at the application, cut it, narrow the space, and stick.
The font could be changed slightly, but not in a crazy way.... I think all the Logos should at least be really close!

This is all just my opinion guys, feel free to tell me to shut it

theres the first two...feel free to suggest changes to the design

I was hoping we could cover more of NW Arkansas, NE Oklahoma, Western Mo, Eastern Kansas, and maybe reach northern states too... I think more or less, It can be for the people to decide if they wanna make the drive to the M&G's, once again, my opinion

just fyi though. if we use the money for club items , ie tents banners, that is "for profit" the only way to bypass this is to show all income coming into the club and then donate to charity that exact same amount of money every year or more so that we have $0 in the positive on 12-31 of each year.

Now we can always just keep it off paper, make money, and use it for our needs however this is tax fraud. That can come back on all members of the club, however will it ever , who knows. Its like doing side jobs. You make 10 bucks cutting the neighbors yard of course your not gonna tell the irs but legally you are obligated. I'm just putting this out there for you guys due to my experience in the matter. i dont care whats done.

Or you can have a small yearly fee from the members and use that money for the goods needed by the club and then donate any moneys earned from outside people, thus keeping it all legal and covered. In this scenario the head 2 honchos can register the club name as a "fictious name" in their state and this will allow them to cash checks written to the club as long as they furnish proof to their tax person of all income is equal to all outgo. No biggie here.

Example. One club i'm in sponsors a family from a church every year and buys them groceries and presents for christmas to wipe out their account.

Another club we used to have a animal shelter local that we paid for peoples adoptions, shots, registrations, and fees, and then used other fees to buy food for the shelter.

Two other clubs are incorporated so they dont wipe out the accounts but they do taxes on the club then pay all the bills in jan. I.e. dashplaques, flyers, insurance, taxes fees.

Once again, this is not my club and i have no opinion on how this is done, ijust wanted to lay the info out there. There have been several clubs i've helped start up and most of the time if we need something ( ie a tent or two) when starting off we just see how many members are gonna be legit, and we split the cost between members. call it a one time fee or a donation, whatever. It is what it is

The MagWag

Ok, Just got off the phone with Chris and we talked about a lot of things. First we will be steering the direction of this club. At this time we feel there is no need for a President, Vice-President etc... There will be no set number of meets, although Lawrence seemed to have worked out pretty good and will be an annual event. All LXCentral M&Gs will be family friendly, no alcohol will be allowed. As was in Lawrence, there will be time after the meet for adult beverages. Chris and I welcome any and all input about what ideas you may have, but in the end we will be making the final call. Right now we like what we saw in Lawrence, a good group of people with sweet looking rides enjoying each others company. We are not crazy about having a lot of rules and the little the better. We know some people will not be happy on some issues. If that is the case we like a pm to either one of us instead of airing it out on the boards. Chris and I then will contact each other and try to iron out the problem.

If you're here sometime this month, with your car, we can go to this track. They are open on Sundays this month then closed for the yucky season.

If you need something to do in Cushing, you could watch the grass grow... lol

Oh, got my guage bezels painted...thanks to you telling us the best way to get them out of the dash. I'll get pics up after racing today. Thanks. :thumbs_u:

Well guys I just noticed. Rachel and I together are 5 for 5 in the holeshot category for today. She even had .068 light, other lane .186 and she beat him by .4914. She has a better reaction time than me.

And it took 14 miles to get it done or to cure. The trim piece to the left of the dash was a little bit of a pain. One thing we noticed was those metal clips are not user friendly. Yea thanks magwag

Just thought i'd share that at the next lx and beyond show there will be regional competitions. there was a list of some of the other regional clubs out there and i mentioned kc mopars and lx central also because they werent on the list and there are people from the local area going to the show. I just thought i'd give everyone a heads up, it'd be a good time to rep the club if you go. Only 2 of us from kc went last year. new england area had like 40 i think.
