There is also a TSB 21-011-05 dated April 23, 2005.
Models: 300/Magnum/Charger/Grand Cherokee (WK w/3.7L, LX w/ 5.7L, or LX AWD w/3.5L) equipped with a NAG1 (W5A580) transmission (sales code DGJ).
Model year: 2005
SUBJECT: NAG1 (W5A580) Transmission - Shudder When Torque Converter Clutch Engages
OVERVIEW: This bulletin involves thoroughly flushing the NAG1 (W5A580) transmission of any water contamination, replacing the transmission filter, and applying RTV sealant around the base of the transmission fill tube to prevent water intrusion past the fill tube seal.
SYMPTOM/CONDITION: The customer may experience a transmission shudder when shifts occur. The shudder is most noticeable with partial application of the torque converter clutch in 3rd and 4th gear.
DIAGNOSIS: If the customer experiences the condition perform the Repair Procedure.

Are all of these for all Magnum's or are the engine specific? What is the protocal for getting a dealership to take care of this? Do I just call and set up an appointment and tell them that I want TSB so and so and this flash?
THANKS CoolVanilla Big Help!

some cover the entire LX platform, others are model/engine specific but most are build date specific. you'll have to read them.
once you find one that describes your symptoms, simply explain your symptoms to service advisor and mention that you foun a TSB describing these symptoms. they should take care of the rest.

How is this one different that 21-006-04 from April 2004. If it is new, can we get a copy added to the archive, I find having the actual TSB in hand helps immensely.
Nimcosi, 21-006-04 deals with the V6 engines and 21-011-15 is for the the 5.7L V8 Hemi engines. The fix is generally the same, but the part numbers may be different.

Hi Jarrod... I'm not sure I understand your question.
LX defines the body style.
The LX currently comes with four engine options. You'll notice that all these TSB's are for the LX. If you have the HEMI, look for those that apply to the 5.7L.
That help clear up any confusion?

Didnt mean to put LX. The TSB i saw was for the v6 rough idle.

I am new to owning a Magnum RT and new to this site. I have been reading all night on this topic of TSBs and the like.
I just rolled 1K miles today on my way to work. Only owned the car for a week and a half. And I have noticed that at stop lights the car is shaking. like there is missing or hesitation going on. Much like this rough idle being talked about. I can't seem to find any info here on the 5.7 with rough idle.
And here is the kicker....I am in Europe! The Magnum does not exsist here. I own the only one I have ever seen in the 2 1/2 years I have been here. So I need as much ammo as I can have in hand when I go to the dealership here as the language barrier is a real PITA!!!!

Is there a way that all LX TSB's can be part of the downloadable list? I see a lot of Magnum TSB's, but there are quite a few 200-specific TSB's that are not on the list.
Any assistance you can provide would be excellent.

I'm not against that idea. I'll check into making this happen over the next few days. Its a bit time consuming to create the index file.
I guess we could do a car/year specific thread for each. So far we'd have:
2005 Magnum
2005 300
2006 Magnum
2006 300
2006 Charger
Correct?
PS: For those that have mentioned other TSBs not listed at the time, check now. There seems to be around a 2 month lag between release of the TSB and when I'm notified its been released.

I don't think that this type of detail is required, but if this is an LX site, I would figure TSB's for all LX platform cars would be here.
Your assistance is greatly appreciated by all!

Safety Recall E14
Transmission Cup Plug Bracket
The cup plug that retains the automatic transmission parking pawl anchor shaft on about 253,000 of the above vehicles may be improperly installed. This could allow the park pawl anchor shaft to move out of position and prevent park engagement. If this occurs and the parking brake is not applied, the vehicle could roll away and cause an accident without warning.

If you go to put it in park and the stick goes there.....then I put on the parking brake and let of the brake pedal and it lurches forward...would this be a good sign fnky?the park pawl engages teeth on an internal gear. if the pawl is not lined up perfectly when you release the service brake, the vehicle will move until he pawl engages the gear teeth. this puts undue stress and wear on both the park pawl and the gear which is why you should always use the parking brake, regardless of grade you are on.
proper use of parking brake:
come to a complete stop, keep your foot on the service brake, and with the transmission still in drive or reverse, apply the parking brake firmly.
next, shift the transmission into neutral and release the service brake. if the vehicle remains motionless, reapply the service brake, shift to park and remove the key.
this ensures that your parking brake, not the park pawl, is holding the vehicle and keeps this valuable safety system in working order, rather than seizing from lack of use.

Alot of us have had that problem and had different fixes for the problem. All they did to mine is a alignment which I am being told was set to specs to fix the problem? We will see it hasn't pulled right in a month, just make sure you document your request and thier responses, you may need to contact DC if they can't fix the problem.

The TSB's for that problem that I have found are 02-002-05 on 3-12-05
Have them pull it up. If it keeps reoccuring there is a cradle adjustment that needs to be done.

Yet many cases of incurable right pull have, in fact, been cured by the owner ditching the stock Contis.

Could someone tell me if there is a way to tell if TSB for tranny leak (or water in tranny) has been done. 05 mag RT built Feb 05 700 miles. And so far just noticed drops from rear end ( not after long drive) and rear cargo strap broke(how do they fix this?) But thought I'd check if tranny TSB was done since it seems to pop up on most 05s. Thanks in advance!!!!

NUMBER: 14-001-06
GROUP: 14 - Fuel System
DATE: January 21, 2006
DISCUSSION:
Starting with the introduction of 2005 model year vehicles a new diagnostic trouble code
(DTC) P0457 - Evap System - Loose Fuel Cap was introduced. Also added to some
vehicles was an instrument cluster message in the odometer display or message center
(EVIC) that alerts the driver that the gas cap is loose.
The PCM monitors the fuel level for a "significant" change in either direction and
remembers that this has recently occurred. A loose fuel cap DTC, cluster message or
message center message matures when the check for the EVAP system large leak
condition fails after the fuel level change event. If a leak of greater than 0.090" is observed
after a fuel level change, a loose cap diagnostic single trip failure is stored and the cluster
message or message center message is displayed even though a DTC may not yet be
present. DTC P0457 - Evap System - Loose Fuel Cap is stored and the MIL illuminated
after 2 cold start failures of the large leak diagnostic checks following a fuel change event.
Only the passing of one of the 3 EVAP system diagnostic routines large leak, small leak or
loose gas cap) by the PCM will validate that the cap is no longer loose and turn off the MIL
light or message.
For 2007 model vehicles DTC P0457 - Evap System - Loose Fuel Cap will be stored and
the MIL illuminated after 3 cold starts.
To temporarily clear the gas cap loose message from the odometer or message
center press the reset button on the odometer or message center while the message is
being displayed. This clears the message for the current key cycle only.
NOTE: The above works for all vehicles except, 2005 - 2006 Grand Cherokee or
Commander. For these, the scantool must be used)
To clear the gas cap loose message from the odometer or message center ensure
the gas cap is tight and let the vehicle run the small leak diagnostic routine. The small leak
diagnostic routine will pass a sealed system after an 8 hour soak and a negative 3° C
change in fuel temperature from the last key cycle.
NOTE: A heated garage may effect the small leak diagnostic routine.
To clear the gas cap loose message from the odometer or message center and
matured DTC (MIL light) diagnose and repair the leak and then erase DTC's with the
DRB III®/StarSCAN™ scantool
NOTE: The DRB III®/StarSCAN™ scantool may be used to reset the Loose Cap
message. Select the PCM Reset function on StarSCAN™ (version 6.05_SP1
or higher) or the Clear PCM Batt Disconnect function on DRB III®.
Disconnecting and reconnecting the battery will also clear the message.
If a gas cap loose message is displayed or DTC P0457 - Evap System - Loose Fuel Cap is
set without P0455 - Evap System Large Leak then ensure the gas cap it tight, no further
service action is required.

The Index's link needs to be updated to:
http://mofocertified.com/2005_dodge_magnum_TSB/_2005%20Dodge%20Magnum%20TSB%20Index.pdf
That link works fine.Fixed! (and oops... my bad... CV is putting together a good supply of rocks to throw at me right now I bet)

Take a look over at www.300cforums.com (http://www.300cforums.com) There is a forum there with all the TSBs for our cars. You can look them up, print them out etc.
Good luck!

I'm actually getting a shudder, then what sounds like engine knock very sporadically right at 50mph. Only goes away if you hammer the throttle. It has done this 2 or 3 times. The dealer just checked it out, telling me it was probably the water in the tranny tube problem. After looking at it all day, they then said nothing was wrong, no water in the fluid, and couldn't dupe the condition. I think it's the MDS not letting the 4 lagging cylinders kick back in as they should, but the svc. mgr. assured me that was not the case. Anyone else hear of this by chance? The entire chassis vibrates when it does occur.
Oh, anyone have any ideas why I am not able to post new threads in here?? I have emailed the moderator a number of times using the link, but still no luck.
Thanks much!

I have an 06 Magnum R/T AWD with 1500 miles which I purchased new in September. I've read all the TSB's. Mine was manufactured 11/05. Should I take it in and have it checked out? Thanks in advance

don't waste their time looking for faults which may or may not exist. if you have a concern, take it in and they'll check it out.
btw, welcome RIDGEZ28. :)

^^^Listen to the FNKY MAN...I got lucky with my RT and didnt have any problems with her. Besides, if your like me...you will srat to "hear or feel" problems when there aren't any. It's a great resource though if you need it. Hopefully you won"t.

Will the dealer still do a TSB (for the AWD Shudder issue) if the car is out of warranty?

no offense to anyone...but dealers are pointless...seriously...they overcharge, cheat you, fill you bull****, and dont do the work right. Did i miss anything??...im so happy that the place that works on both magnums n every other car in the household knows what the hell they;re doing and at this point we're their veteran customers at 9 years of their services. No problems ever!!!

Might be covered under the powertrain warranty. 7/70? And I wouldnt take my car anyplace else but the dealer, to each their own I guess. A bad egg is a bad egg no matter where they work. My 2 cents.
