The first two races are a measured out 1/4 mile. I asked Jason to brake at the 1/4 mile point since I was holding a camera. Prior to these races and with 5.5-6 lbs of boost and a conservative Vortech tune Jason was able to beat me by a car length. After returning to Vortech for a pulley swap (7-7.5 lbs of boost). Jason had a half tank of gas and weighs 200 lbs on a good day. I had 3/4 tank of gas and weigh 230 lbs. YOU be the judge!

EDIT: I deleted the videos and linked them to the original forum it was posted on so there will be NO liability issues WRT LXForums

Shouldn't those Vortechs be putting down a little more power than that? I wanna see a 392 vs. The Vortech, money the stroker pulls harder than that blower. a turbo's another story. A real street sweeper would be the 392 with a twin turbo setup, that thing would pull 10's all day with four doors. Good job keeping up with the boost man, next time install a bottle on the downlow and hit him with a 100 shot and when u pull up right next to him snap a picture of his expression, he's gonna be like What The *u*K!!! lol

Oh well....if it gets deleted you can discuss it over at the SRTConnection. It's really just showing the lack of performance of the Vortech kit. I personally would be really pissed if I spent $6k on the kit and those were the results. That's why I posted it...giving prospective buyers a heads up...or at least to know what they are buying and need a good tune with it.

Mods: feel free to delete if I've broken the rules! Although...it was in a construction zone without ANY vehicles around!! I can start a new thread without the videos for folks to discuss.

Please....I got mine deleated because I was racing a V6 charger up-badged to a SRT8...I never said I raced him...I said "I blew his doors off" AND got some infraction point out of it.

Too many rules nowadays, I guess thats the downside to having more lawyers than the rest of the world combined. Would it be ok if the poster posted a disclaimer about how street racing in a reckless irressponsible way is dangerous to not only themselves but very illegal as well. From what I can the see the street is fully absent of any traffic or pedestrians and theres no doubt in my mind they would not have gone on with it if there was anyone around to get hurt, this is what I call responsible street racing and should be rewarded, these are incredible videos showing what a Vortech blower can or from what I saw can't do for all that money lol does your friend have forged internals? I would love to see a rematch to see what that thing could do with more boost, at least 16 or more!!! would be interesting...

No he does NOT have forged internals. He is one of the initial Vortech R&D guys. When he first got it back he had 5.5-6lbs of boost (can't remember the exact number). We did the same test runs and he only pulled on me by 3/4-1 car length after three runs. I repeated the test with another local R&D guy with the same results. Vortech asked the guys to come in and do some more testing. They swapped out their pulleys to a 7 or 8 lb pulley and revised the tune. This is the setup they currently have and you see in the videos. Momo and I had the EXACT same mods up until he installed the blower. For $6k plus intall I would expect more. Good friends of mine tell me "yeah...but you need a good tune". This is true! But, a GOOD tune is going to run another $650-$1000 depending on who you go to. Thats the ONLY reason I'm posting this is so that people KNOW what they are getting for their money. It's no skin off of my back...ALL the San Diego Vortech R&D guys are good friends of mine and Vortech has given them a decent mod for the money THEY paid...but, I think it would be different if they had paid retail!:beerchug:

I'm sure they would sell a hell of alot more if the price came down a little bit, this combined with CMJ's new rear end gears would make for a nasty sleeper.

We don't delete anything.

We lock or lock and move to the Abyss, but we never delete.

Oh, and street racing, in any form, is not something we like here. Sorry.
