Upgrad my tires from 295 to 305 or 315?

On my way to my car to go to work this morning...I noticed my right rear tire was "a little low on air"...get out my gauge, and it had 9psi in the rear. Its suppose to have 44psi.

So its 4:30 in the morning and I am pissed.

So the question is, I have 295/45/20 currently on my rear...

I have a 10 inch rim, should I upgrade to 305 or 315s ?

I heard is was bad to replace just one tire, they will not wear evenly, so might as well try something different.

Depends on the leak, if it's just the seal at the bead, or if it's a puncture in the tread, then you can likely have it repaired. If it's a hole in the sidewall, then no. Jack it up to like 45 psi and put it underwater, look for bubbles. Patches usually only cost at most $10.

is getting a tire repaired a option, for a sports car? In other words is it common?

If it's repairable, yes, it's common. Tires are expensive. ;)

I have the OEM F1's on my SRT8, and had the rear repaired. Per the Goodyear website, you must use the combination plug/patch to keep the
warranty intact. So Goodyear says it is OK to fix the tire. So go ahead an do it. Then take it up to about 170 mph and see if it holds. I'm dying to know. :wink:

BTW, aren't you the bad azz that had the yellow Charger with the Mopar graphics? Still have that car? That thing was awesome. Do you have pictures with those big meats on the rear?

it has to be a very small hole because its been steady at 33-35psi. But will not hold the 44psi for the max on the tire.

Where do I take it to be repaired? Local shop and how long does it take.

jUST TAKE IT DOWN TO YOUR LOCAL TIRE PLACE. tHEY'LL PULL IT OFF THE RIM, PATCH IT FROM THE INSIDE, THEN REMOUNT/REBALANCE THE TIRE FOR ABOUT $20.

Make sure that you won't have rubbing issues, if you ever go to a wider tire. Tell the vendor exactly what car your gonna put em on. The people on the Tire Rack and Discount Tire have given me good advice.

It might be the valve stem also.... Mine would lose pressure when the car was in motion but wouod hold it fine if stationary. Cost me $5.00 to get a new valve stem replaced.....

take it to any tire shop, or atleast one u can somewhat trust to not damage or scratch ya rims, and pay the 3000 dollars to get the tire plugged or better yet patched from the inside..lol

I had a screw in my tire. They took it out and pluged it, and didnt charge me.

Glad you got it fixed. I keep a tire plug kit at the house for that very reason.

Its easy to fix yourself as long as its in the tread.
