I got my car back about a week ago after Vortech installed their kit and worked their magic. It's awesome!

I was going through the "which CAI is right for me" and had planned on doing CAI/Predator, then heads/cam in about 6 months. Then I learned about this deal, and I jumped on it immediately with no regrets.

I'm sure you've seen pictures before, but here's a couple anyway.

I opted for the satin finish, as I plan on painting some of the parts TorRed later.

I picked my car up and headed home, about 3 hours drive. When driving normal, with light throttle, you almost don't know the supercharger is there except for the slight whistle. But as soon as you start to give it more than about 1/4 throttle, you can feel it is much stronger.
After I left Vortech, I stopped for something to sip on for the drive, and had to make a U-turn to get on the freeway. I waited until traffic was clear, then made the U-turn and eased on the throttle. I got on it just hard enough to get it to take off in 1st instead of second, and at about 15 mph I nailed it. It really took off, and when it shifted into 2nd, it broke the tires loose. This was in D with ESP on!

Later in our trip, I was getting back on the freeway and punched it at about 20 mph. This time, it broke loose immediately and felt like I could have feathered a burnout all the way down the entrance ramp if I wanted to! Again, in D with ESP on!!

Dyno sheets.

Here's Vortech's dyno sheet. They told me before I dropped my car off the numbers would be lower than most dynos, but to focus on the percentage of increase, not the max number. The results were right where they predicted.

I know it's a little hard to read, the top of the chart is 434.

So I was cool with that. Then the guys at Vortech gave me an extra bonus. They said they took a couple cars to a local shop with a DynoJet to see how they did on that dyno. Mine was one of the cars they took. So here's the sheet from the DynoJet.

This is uncorrected, and the scales are different on each side.

Max TQ 462.04, Max HP 498.75.

Positives-
Lots of fun, usable power with great driveability. This is my daily driver, and it starts, idles, and behaves great. Before, I would drive in AutoStick most of the time, to make sure I was ready to go if need be. For now, I just keep it in drive. It's got more than the tires can use most of the time anyway! I have not turned off ESP yet, and I can break the tires loose under 30 mph pretty much at will.

Before I got it, I wondered if a supercharger would leave me wanting more off the line. Not at all the case. It's got plenty.

Negatives-

I had to drive a Cobalt for a month while Vortech took care of my car! I got no respect on the road at all! :loser:

So next is to dress up things under the hood. I'm thinking about painting the intake tubes and aftercooler red, and I get my catch can on Thursday. I'm going for a red/black/carbon theme under the hood, with minimal shiny stuff. I got the black braided lines with red fittings for the catch can. I'll be set for the weekend!

Very nice! I'm glad you had the Dynojet charts to show in comparison to the Mustang dyno charts - that gives a much better comparison to what everyone else reports for numbers.

Nice results!

That is awesome to hear.

Any videos?

Are you going to go to the track with it?

Thanks guys.

No videos, I'm between cameras right now, the last one broke.

I may go try the 1/8 mile at Qualcomm some time. I am curious how it would do, but I also don't want to break anything.

I happen to have access to a private but unprepared dragstrip so I went there and used my EVIC before and after. I've only made one pass with the supercharger, and had HUGE traction issues. Got more MPH but essentially the same ET according to the EVIC.

it took me some getting used to. you really gotta feather the throttle off your launch, to get a good one. but once you figure out your launch, youll be untouchable. i just beat a 2005 viper the other day. ran about a 1/8 of a mile. and won by a car and a half. probably a drivers race. but it made me feel good about the vortech :)

One thing that you can do on the Mustang dyno is run a simulated quarter mile. The biggest variable is traction, you're strapped down to the dyno. I've been amazed how close my vehicles have run at the track to the dyno times. Glad that you like the Vortec !

Yes my friend. The Vortech Dyno actually registered 436 HP at 6242 rpm, it's in the grid of info at the bottom that's hard to read.

Got a set of the new Deatsch werks injectors today that are especially designed for the 5.7L Hemi's and 6.1L SRT's. Here is a link for more info (http://www.projectsrt.com/pages/sponsors/Deatschwerks.htm).
Should have an updated dyno by tomorrow.
