Just trying to gauge who is staying active here. We're going to try to get organized shortly here. We want to do bigger and better things (like raising money for charity and organizing our own car shows), and we're going to need some structure if we want other organizations to take us seriously. If those things are going to happen I'm gonna need who's here to help. And don't feel obligated or singled out if you can't participate on that level. We all know some people barely have enough time to show up to our lil BBQ's...there's nothing wrong with that. I already know certain people are on board to be organizers/motivators. But I want even those people to step up here and "raise there hand" so to speak, because I don't presume to speak for them. Don't worry if you have no experience organizing/running an organization (heck I've got none myself), we'll learn on the fly with a little guidance from our more "seasoned" members. For those who wish to drive DVMMC...we'll all have a meeting sometime shortly after the VA Car show in Delaware, so that we're all on the same page. If anyone who doesn't have my cell would like to talk shoot me a PM. I work in the evenings so don't be surprised if it takes me a day to call back if you leave me a voice mail. Let me know where you stand as an active member...

-Bill

How did I know you two would be first in line?

And don't forget to to stop in and say "I'm still here1" even if you don't have the time to be an organizer. I want to hear from everyone who wants to participate and be part of the family. Now is the time to rally together.

I don't know what I can do to help, but I'll do what I can. I had the unique experience of meeting some of the members today in Valley Forge, and from that I am looking forward to future meetings with even more members. I do feel that my ride was dwarfed by those members rides, nice cars! My daughter has even stated that even though her car isn't an "LX", it is a modern Mopar (2008 Caliber SXT), she is fruit not fallen too far from the tree. She's the one who coined the meaning of DODGE as "Dumb Ole' Dad Gets Everything". I do plan on going to the Delaware VA, but will probably bring the 78 Seville instead, it did have it's 30th birthday this year (might fit better in with the classics). See Y'all there!

Sunday is a slow day, so I expected as much. We'll see how things progress over the course of the week. We have an opportunity to do good things, and I don't want to see that wasted.

Hey Bill, I am here to help anyway possibile. I've been involved, well actually members of about 6 different car clubs. that doesn't mean I know how to run one BUT I have seen alot things , good and bad , along the way. Hopefully my years of web surfing could be useful to DVMMC. I would say we need to decide on where we want this website to be in a certain time frame and then see what ideas we can come up with to get it there.

OH , by the way , count me in , LOL.

I'm still here. I was representing the DVMMC at E-town on Saturday.( I went 3 rounds) Sorry that I couldn't make it to the M&G yesterday but I had to catch up with everything that I couldn't do Saturday. I will help however I can to try and get this club up off the ground.

Decals are in the works. I hope to have a pair of designs in time for show at the Wilmington VA. No worries when you miss events guys, there's other things going on in everyone's life. Sounds like you had a good day E-town John. We'll forgive you if you win some hardware Tom, LOL. This is good people, discussion keeps us moving forward.

And if I put you on the wrong end of the list shoot me a PM and set me straight.

I'm available if assistance is needed in any form.

Should I get some card made up? People might want to know about the club in a hurry. This way if they ask about us first we could hand them a card with our site.
"In no way do I mean to advertise" only if they ask for info.

Charlie, Moddog , has some cards made up for the 300c club he belongs to. I think its a good idea BUT we should work on a design and great message to put on the card. As for "no way do I mean to advertise', I see no problem promoting the site through advertising. We need traffic and getting people anyway possible to visit the site is a good thing.

Just a couple of pennies I found in my pocket , LOL.

Bill,

I am still here and really hoping to meet everyone some time soon. I know I had to bail on a couple of BBQs. I only have 3 more weddings this year, and I finally tied the knot on the 23rd so all that stuff is over. Thankfully. So know i can start getting my life back.

Just let me know what i can do. I work everyother weeked so I won't be able to make everything.

I am with you!!! But I have to say the following I am very happy that you showed up for the VA event You being our founder! But when I look at the Charger NJ Group and how they came out on Friday, spent the night in hotels to be able to help me out for this event! And only 3 of us showed up for it. Well I am so very sad! And I when I think back to our first meet at Greg's house I say to myself what went wrong!!! You know what I said to you mike before the event at Greg's. We have to get organized!! I am saying this in public for the Last time. If we don't make an organization we are doomed! I will stand with the DVMMC until the end! But my point is we can't make it without an organization. With out a plan we are doomed! Lets planned our club out! NO GROUP CAN MAKE IT WITHOUT ORGANIZATION!!! Look at the numbers. Today I feel that we and I say we put on a great event and 3 including myself out of 148 cars showed up!

Claude, I'm happy for you that the VA event finally happened and you guys had a beautiful day. I saw the effort you were putting in to make this a special day for certainly a great cause and I applaud you.

As for myself, I'd like to take a couple minutes to explain my lack of 100% involvement here.
I own a restaurant that obviously eats up a lot of my time, but especially the weekend time. My wife is a part time nurse, that as of right now, requires her to work every other weekend. We have 3 children under the age 4.
Throw in the family birthdays, occasional family/friend wedding, soccer game or block party, and I find myself really strapped for free time on the weekend. Every now and then I can get a Sunday where the wife and the I are both off (like today) and I try to organize some family time. I looked for some sort of event happening today with DVMMc but there was none, so we are heading down to the Phils this afternoon.

In short, this is not an excuse or a plea for sympathy from anyone, but more of a conscious clearing for myself as I would love to be more involved here, but at this exact point in my life, this is all I'm working with.

If we get something together on a weeknight, I'd be there early waiting for you. :)

Seriously, thanks to you and Moonstreaker for the passion and time to keep this going.

Your all good! You should have a M&G at your resturant give us a discount and I am sure you will get a nice showing. Winter is coming and soon we wount be meeting up at all. So next year will see what happens to our group. I will keep the fight to keep us strong. But there are alot of things going on around us and groups trying to form that my hurt are thing here but I feel that there are some stong leaders here that will keep the hope alive lol. I for one understand what you are going thru. My wife is at the point of wanting to kill me and burn the MSRT so no other wife has to go thru what she it lol. But starting this week she goes to work with me up at the VA so we will have our weekends and are week days together. Oh Boy lol. But the main point is that we have weekend to do the car show thing as a family.

Perhaps that would help. Avant has a good point. Why not do 2 meets a month. One on a weekday and one on a weekend. Make the weekday something simple like a returant and the weekend can be a park or zoo or something. I think could help us keep people interested and able to meet up.

I'm out for anything during the week. Since I work 4 10s on Second shift, I have no social life at all from Monday through Thursday.

Now that softball is winding down, I should be available for more weekends.

There are plenty of established "Cruises" around the area already. I am sure some, if not all, of these events would appreciate the support of our members. If you can get a hold of a "Cruisin" magazine, all the Cruises are listed. These events are usually for the pure support of the public, cost nothing, and possibly can provide the needed coherance we need to form a successful existance. Already mentioned is the FuddRuckers" friday evening Cruise in Turnersville (held once per month officially, but if I recall every Friday for the Hard Cores among us). While not all that close to me I do occationally swing by that one, it is a well rounded get together in a Parking Lot that can hold a lot more vehicles (although not nessesarily in the Main part of the lot next to the resturaunt). We can easily mass in an outlying area for "Mass-Appeal" of the LX's letting the public know of our existance in force! Of course there will be other suggestions due to geography but we will need to select a successful one in a median area to accomodate as many as possible.

Pretty close to where the Atlantic City Expressway starts and 42 ends. I looked and this is not one of their "Official" weekend cruises. I do not go there as much as I used to, but I believe "ToastyCG" does - he might be a better source of information. I did go there recently and they do put on quite a show on their Official cruises. A lot of really fine cars come for viewing pleasure and the food is quite good too!

The next "Official" Fuddrucker Friday Night Cruise is 10/10/08. We will need to verify how populated the other Friday nights are with ToastyGC. I do seem to remember that there was something going on almost every Friday but that was a while ago. This Saturday Morning I plan on attending the Cruise in Pennsville at Rainbows End Airport put on by the Road Knights. This link gets you to a Cruise Calendar that illustrates the area Cruise nights, http://calendar.tsnpub.com/calendar_cm.aspx.

On the non cruise nights you can plan on parking in the fudds lot if you are there at 5-6. After that you will be across the way at the grocery store parking. Same lot, there is just a road that devides the two lots. I guess you can call it a road.
