OK ... I got my Hotchkis sways for my Magnum RT through a good group buy from BMC ...
I am in NO position, tool-wise, place to work wise, or smart enough wise to do the rear myself ...
A buddy who owns a shop blindly told me a cheap price to do this until he actually saw what is involved ... now he has backed out and left me in the cold ...
So I'm talking to local shops to get them installed and they are killing me with the labor quotes! ...
Please tell me if you have had the sways installed by a shop and how much they charged you ..
I am NOT interested in quotes that include TVS1 or KW Coilovers, etc ...
JUST a sway bar install!
Also, if you are within 100 miles of Fort Worth, TX tell me who did your install...
Thanks
there are plenty of people in that area that I assume would be happy to help. The bar isn't that hard. If I was closer I'd offer. Good luck!

Thanks ekaz, but I'm getting estimates of 4 hours at over $100 an hour ... I'm not happy about paying more for the install than I paid for the sways to start with ... and then the recommendation is to go get a 4 wheel laser alignment for over $100 after the install ... I know the improvement in handling is worth putting these bars in but Holy Crap! ... is this really a $900 mod? ...

I had my rear bar installed for 1.5 hours labor, but that was by CMJ Performance while they were also installing my Vortech (so maybe they gave me a bit of a break on the sway bar install).

A local Chrysler dealer installed my hotchkis sways for $256. They didn't quote or tell me the hours, but I think they quoted me 2 hours because their shop rate was around $130 at the time.
But when I picked up my car the service advisor said I got a good deal cause it was more work then they originally thought it would be.

The front bar is about 15 min. Rear bar requires lowering the whole rear rack, easy if they have a 4 wheel alignment machine. Anything over 2 hours for the whole job is too much. My local Dodge dealer charges $70/hr here in Maine(third world) Perhaps a little trip south of the border?

Expect to typically pay between $350 (very low end) to $700. Two different dealers wanted $650 and $600. Even Hotchkis wanted $450

Thanks for all the replies. Very helpful.
Got a quote of $250 from a fellow member of the DFWLX Club and I'm going to take him up on it. Hopefully if the rear cradle goes back up where it belongs I won't have any alignment issues but I'm prepared to get the alignment done if necessary. I am one of the proud owners of an '05 Magnum RT that actually goes in a perfectly straight line! No right-pull, no tire wear issues, nothing. I won't be happy with anything less after the sways go on.
