I do have a few thrifty bones in my body and I am always looking for the cheapest option.

I don't no if I should be happy with what I got or should I have spent an extra hundred dollars on something nicer.

My car looks huge under this thing and even though its not tight it was cut for my car and covers every thing well. I don't like how you can see threw it, so I watered the car with my flower watering can. At first it beaded up but then it started to saturate the cover. So I guess "water resistant" doese not mean water proof. My coworker told me he spent 200 on his and his car gets wet and thats normal. Oh and its 1 layer, so did I get a decent deal or should I send it back?

All that thing will do is keep dust off... my bet is since it's only one layer you could scratch the paint w/ it on a windy day, and it'll let water weep through and then keep it on the car. That's something I'd use to keep it from getting dirty while it was parked indoors, not something I'd use outside. Unfortunately, good outdoor covers do cost a couple hundred bucks :-( Hey, it's cheaper than a garage!

just watch out for garbage trucks LOL...

if you are wantin something to cover the car and minimal protection then its worth it, if you were wanting more protection and "privacy" (you cant see through it that much lol) then get a more exspensive one.

and as convient as it is i dont think ebay is the place to get one...alot of stuff on there is cheap, in more ways than one

You get what you pay for...Its not bad for the money you paid, should at least keep bird crap, pollen and dust off the surface at least. Summit has a real good price on a top quality one for our cars that may be worth checking them out.

I personally started with one of these cheaper covers and it didnt cover the car as much as that one does... so you got a plus there. Second I have never checked to see if my "cheaper" cover is water resistant/proof. I now have a good wolf car cover and I believe it is suppose to be water resistant. I will never know though...

My point is I got my wolf cover from a fellow forum member for a little more then double what you paid for the cheaper ebay version. I would suggest post a WTB and maybe you will get lucky and save some money plus have a good cover. otherwise they are only $130 full price on there site and they fit perfect. I hear the cali cover is water proof but when u take the cover off after a rain it leaves white chalkly stuff all over the car.... I wonder if wolf does that?

I am not going to be able to test that one out for ya :boohoo: but there is someone else that has the same cover that uses it outside... maybe he will chime in.

most of them or resistant because of the fact that they "breathe"....you would have to have one doesnt "breathe" cause if air can pass through then so can water...would almost have to have a plastic liner in one of the layer

I have the Wolf brand cover never noticed any chalky or dusty stuff. Seems like its more water resistant versus being water proof.

On a positive note it protects great against birds and sap. The apartment complex where I'm staying until we move into our new house has lots of ugly "turkey-ducks". At night they get on top of parked cars leaving duck feet marks and nail scratches, not to mention the bird crap.

(If your not from Florida "turkey-ducks" are ducks with turkey like red bumpy faces and duck bodies, ugly as hell but everywhere with water.)
