Sorry, couldn't find a way to Edit previous post header ... so I started another thread ... Mods fell free to delete the other thread ...
If you have the Hotchkis sways on a Magnum RT please tell me how much you paid for the install ...
No, there is no frigging way I can do it myself, I don't have the place or the tools or the extra pair of hands needed to drop the rear cradle and get it back anywhere near where it started without needing an alignment after the install ...
I'm only talking to Forum members who have had their sways done by a pro ... and just the sways ... it doesn't help if you also had a total Pedders redo or lowering springs done ...
I'm talking just a straight RT Hotchkis sway install ... I need some comparable numbers to take to my potential installer ...
Sadly, I must confess, I am a trusting soul (also known as an idiot) and bought the sways without hesitation based on a friend who owns a shop quoting me a price based on his past experience with sway bar installs ... so today I drop by the shop with my new sways and a big smile on my face to see when they can put them in and they take one look at the instructions for the rear bar and immediately back-pedal away and say they don't even want to do the install ...
So now I'm driving around with my new sway bars in the box knocking on doors trying to get a decent price for an install and all anyone wants to quote me is the "Chrysler book" says 4 hours for the rear bar alone ... WTF! ... that's like $400 just to put the rear bar in? ....
So where were all the posts about everyone raving about their new Hotchkis sways that nobody ever mentioned how badly they got raped trying to get them installed???
Any help will be greatly appreciated ... seriously, I'm not a cheapskate, if everybody paid 4 hours of labor I'll bite the bullet and get it done ... but I've found some posts where folks had it done for less by a shop ...I need some numbers for bartering purposes at the very least ...
Come on LXForums ... help me out here ...
Thank you!
