I'm looking for an all-year tire so I can take off the Blizzaks. I don't want to waste an awesome snow-tire by driving it in the summer and it doesn't snow enough here to truly need a dedicated winter tire like these. In a perfect world, I'd sell the Blizzaks and put these on instead. The Blizzaks have 4000 miles and look brand spanking new - I need a local member to do a swap with me, lol.

$117 per tire is a good price I think, right? Any opinions on handling, treadwear etc?

I noticed that the Yokohama Avid H4S got slightly better ratings for only a buck more, good find, I think it's a fairly new size? They rated both better than the Pirelli P6, but that's not much of a recomendation. I would also say take a look at the 245/55/18" BFG KDWS and the General Grabber UHP in 255/55/18'S. The UHP's are in the same price range, BFG's are more.

I had a set of Firestone Firehawks when I lived in NY. Great tire didn't use it much for snow but when the occasional snow came they were pretty good in the meantime they were a great all-year tire - good traction, good cornering, good treadlife.

my $.02

Sprung for Potenzas on my Cutlass. Granted that's not exactly a performance automobile, but I loved 'em. Lasted about 40,000 miles before the trans gave out, but they were still in awesome shape. No trouble in any weather.

The Grid is a great tire, however they do not compare to the Blizzaks in the snow, not many tires do.

FYI
I'm a Bridgestone/Firestone dealer, so i have a good background in this subject.
