Yes, you can SC a motor with 10.5 or higher CR, provided you have upgraded the internals (pistons, rods...) to handle the power.

I don't know if I'd go any higher than like 8psi even on high end internals.... 10.5 is getting up there for a blown motor.

I don't know if I'd go any higher than like 8psi even on high end internals.... 10.5 is getting up there for a blown motor.Depends on the pistons Todd.It also depends on the overall compression. What you want to do is not go over 17:1 overall for a street motor.
I am pushing 10-12 psi on 10.5 compression....but I know my pistons are strong enough to take it.

Depends also if the motor is built for boost or for N/A
I have 10.5 compression but my forged bottom end is set up light to rev faster...I wouldn't put boost on my Current short block.

It is set up light, red , you just answered my question I think...no supercharger for ole Kyle E...

Hey if your motor isn't finisnhed then...well, if you have the pistons already made then it is too late.

Motorhead, why not just go with a nice nitrous set up for the track and run 100 octane unleaded only at the track. A lot cheaper too.

Really just asking if I could if I wanted to. With my work week ,trips to the track would be far and few between. So, it would be a bragging rights kind of deal and how important is that? I surely didnt NEED a high reving 392 stroker either I supose...anyways ...if the blower bug gets me ..I want to know what Im up against

hahaha Doh! Stu says my ringlands are at about .280 and if I really wanted too I could do big chamber heads and different gaskets to bring the compression down and go 8-9lbs boost if I wanted in the future...ya gotta love that stu guy..he finds ways for you to blow 10 grand right off the top of his head!

Stu always seems to help you find a way around your obstacles to spending more money. If you want/need any help or helpful hints on installing the Vortech, let me know.

You will be fine with that compression.
Just make sure you have a good intercooler, and you will be fine.
I run 6-7psi with the CR all the time on pump gas, daily drivers.
