You can go wider than 255-55-18 on stock rims ... I've been using BFG KDW-2's for 2 years in that size, no trouble at all ... you "might" see some clearance issues in the front with the steering knuckle if you go wider up there but if you want to go "staggered" I believe you can safely put up to 275's on these wheels in the rear. They are only 7 1/2" wide wheels though so you may not want to push it past that.

I know I have asked this before but,... do the same rules apply to AWD's that apply to RWD's? I know the offset is different between the Rims, but does that offset difference place the AWD tire in the same relative position in the wheel well as the RWD? Even if the Rim does place the tire in the same relative position, there may be AWD specific clearance issues with unique driveline components. Then again the AWD also sits a tad higher. I will eventually need tires (with the continental suit, maybe sooner than later) and also would like to upgrade the size.

No one move! Let me see your hands! I am hijacking this thread! :)
(Sorry PT Dub but I have the same questions so figured I should not start yet another, "How wide thread.")

Ok so the following will fit a bone stock 06 R/T Charger with no rubbing if fitting issues right?

255/55/18
265/35/18
275/55/18 (On the rear only)

If I am wrong please let me know because I am going out to buy 4 new tires tomorrow. I was hoping for all season tires as my car is a daily driver and I live in Wisconsin now.

This is what I have got. I can not find the tires I want so I am getting:

255/55VR18 Kumho Ecsta STX of the front
275/55/VR 18 XL Kumho Ecsta STX on the back.

Will the above fit with zero clearance, with, or any other issues? I do not want to use spacers.

I'm running nitto 420's 255/55/18 with no problems yet.

Thoughts on 275/55/18 on the back? They need spacers or something?

Spacers required on certain wheels, if your running stock rims no problem I had 255/55/18 G Forces on my Magnum with no trouble! Why stagger them? you can't rotate your tires then?

I am using stock rims. I just wanted to have the old school look. Besides I am sick of every Mustang in town rolling up on me with the huge meats they get to put on their cars.

I went staggered and am not dissapointed at all. It will look so good and different from the norm. The wheels are due on my doorstep tomorrow!!
