Are the SE's out and availible?

Is the market so very soft?

I do not understand why I saw an advertisement today for a Challenger. "In Stock" "First $22,000 takes it home".

I can not see a SRT going for that cheap.

Any answers???????

There are SE's out.

There is one thread. Base price is just over $21,000. Options bring it up to $26,000 and the dealer had a rediculous $10,000 markup bringing the total to $36,000

Are the SE's out and available?

Do a search on cars.com

yesterday there were at least 150 in dealers hands around the country..

Went and test drove an SRT8 Challenger today. Dealer has 6 SRT8's and 1 SE.
Didn't ask about pricing on the S/E but they said they are asking $10k over invoice for the SRT's.... I talked to the son of the manager I dealt with when I bought the Charger and he said the best he could get me was $2k over sticker.... Told him I don't want one that badly and maybe we will talk once I can do an Invoice deal.

The salesman that took me for a test drive was a total arrogant bastard, I told him so, and that even if I was interested I sure as hell wouldn't do a deal with him... :blam:

Give it time. Especially in the sping 2009. Additional dealer mark-up will be a thing of the past on regular SE's, R/T's, and SRT8s'. You'll save yourself alot of money and hassles if you wait! :)

I paid list for my 300c when it first came out 50 grand up here ( i had to have one), now its 15 grand cheaper new, and i am lucky to get 18 grand 3 yrs later with low miles and top notch shape .i saw an 06 lasts week with 55'000 klms on it for 13 grand used .

I will wait for the Camaro then watch what the prices do , i am sure you will see 1 yr old challengers R/T for 25 grand if not less .I know i will not take a lost again just to be the first on the block .

How much do you think a 08 SRT8 will go for two yrs from now with the market flooded and the new Camaro hitting the street ????

there's nothing wrong with my car so am sure i can wait a bit and buy a used Challenger if not a RT the maybe a SRT8 , then mod the crap out of it with the money i saved .

You can find SE's. There is one in Southern Maryland, but I didn't take the time to check it out. I just rolled up in my Maggie to take a look and the SRT had a 20K Adjusted Market Value - Markup. Total $62,000 +. The salesman came over while I was laughing to myself and asked if I wanted to talk about a deal for my car, I said after seeing your markeup do you really think I would consider buy a car here. He made a U-turn to go back to the other salesmen huddled around my car. I just said excuse me and drove off.

You are right about an overloaded market. Prices will fall like rocks off a cliff. Chryslers always have a very poor resale value. Wait a few months and the dealers will be begging on the streets for buyers. One thing the Challenger will do is kill the market for the Charger. There will be some amazing discounts on the Charger this year.

I got this reply from a dealer in Southern California...

This 2009 Challenger SE is available for sale and I will sell it to you for the MSRP of $24,790.00 plus tax and licensing fees. There is no rebates on it as yet. Call me or e-mail me if you'd like to stop by and see it and I'll be happy to help you with it. Thanks again..

I guess you have to keep looking to find a reputable dealer. Almost all dealers here still have a $20K markup on existing 2008 SRT's! What are they thinking? The 2009's are rolling out and the 2008's are just sitting on their lots with ridiculous markups.
