LXOM?!!! What a nice Mother’s day SURPRISE!!

I must say that I am almost beyond words at this moment, pretty tough for a guy that is always talking!!

Thank you for the nomination and also thank you everyone that voted. This is an honor, especially considering how many great contributors there are on this Forum, I have learned more than I have ever learned about any vehicle. I have also learned that the people that buy them and post here are intelligent, funny, lots of fun, even frisky at times, but really a very well rounded bunch.

MAGNUM8R’s real name is Mark; I’m a 46 year old California native and married to MRS. MAGNUM8R (Lynn) we have a wonderful daughter Nicole, 10 (Jr. MAGNUM8R). We live in Corona, CA along with a whole list of pets (I think Nicole may become a veterinarian) I am a Sales Engineer for a very successful Custom Injection molder of Plastics, making everything from Components for Automotive, Commercial Trucking, Medical, Fluid Handling, Electronics and printers, etc. I have been in this Industry for over 25 years. My Magnum RT is key to my business, and Customers love going to lunch in it.

While I never have been a real car enthusiast before, I sure am now. The Magnum RT is absolutely the most fun I have ever had with a vehicle, and it is my 4th. new Mopar purchase. This Forum has made owning this vehicle so much more enjoyable and only adds to the “Cool Car Dude” comments I get everywhere. I have become almost addicted to the Forum, and have been busted checking in many times at work, but I’m the only Sales person, and we have had record Sales months for the history of the Company, so they look the other way. I ordered my Magnum in June ’04 and picked it up Sept. 1, ’04 I have racked up 20K miles already, and will put close to that many more miles by the end of the year. An ’07 or ‘08 Magnum is in the plans at this time.

My other interests are Yacht racing and cruising, I sail on a 40’ J120 called Blew Bayou out of Dana Point, Ca. We have had some very successful racing seasons, and lots of good times. My family is preparing for our 6th. Annual sailing vacation, 8 days on a chartered catamaran in the British Virgin Islands, then a week at St. John. Nicole now plots GPS courses and helps steer the yacht while Dad Fishes and relaxes with Mom and guests.

I am also a sailplane pilot (yes, those airplanes with no engines) I have really enjoyed soaring, as you get so relaxed not thinking about ANYTHING ELSE, because you cannot. A 2 to 3 hour flight and 100 miles covered is not uncommon. A cold beer is always in order after landing!!

Enough about me, again, I really feel honored with the LXOM award, and will continue enjoying and posting on the Forum for a long time to come. I look forward to meeting more of the local owners at our next meet, and hopefully more from across the Nation when finally get Hammerfoot into a Magnum and have the LX party of the century!!

I feel very fortunate to have found this site, and even more fortunate to have met some of the quality people that frequent here.

My appreciation and respect for the Administration should also be mentioned, thanks for all of you hard work in making this the ONLY Forum I visit on a regular basis. I am very pleased that you grouped up with the Magnum Club also.

Happy Mothers Day to all, and I won’t elaborate more on this one.

Thanks Again!!

Mark

Congratulations Mark. Very nice acceptance speech. Sounds like you're a good family man. (When you're not tinkering with your Mag.) I like that.
I too, along with Grin, are curious about the doo-hicky on your rear wing. Can you enlighten us with some details. Thanks.

mondo congrats, Mark.
what are those thingies on your rear wing?
Why Grinner, those are the NASA tested Vortex Gerators. They are in a testing phase, I am working with the patent owner on 3/4 scale version of this that would be molded in 20" strips.

46 years old and crewing on a racing yacht?? I thought that was young man's work! You must be fit-as-a-fiddle. Congratulations on your well-deserved recognition.

Good job Mark...

I love your statement " While I never have been a real car enthusiast before, I sure am now." I have always been a car enthusiast, but because of family, have had to give up my desires for more practical purposes (Read SUV's). Yes, In my youth I owned a 69 Superbee, a car I will never forget.

So, like you, the RT has rekindled my "Muscle Car" self back into alignment, and all is good with the world again. It helps that my kids like this car as much or more than me...

Welcome to the fold dude.

Sorry I'm so late to post, but I've been busy; selling my Ex's and my old house and trying to buy a new one as well as suppling info to my prospective new employer.

Balated congrats; nice to see one need not have after-market wheels to win.

Congratulations Mark.
Keep us informed on that mod on your rear spoiler.
I too used to fly those engineless airplanes and I hope to get back into them some day soon.
I love my RT as much as you do yours.
Have fun.
