Can I use this to pull timing on my 07 5.7 Charger:
MSD-86253 (http://www.nitrousoutlet.com/catalog/product_details.asp?group=26&model=141&dept=11&product_id=2970)Dodge 5.7L Timing Twister (javascript:void(0)) $ 271.40
I use my N2O 95% of the time on the street and wouldlike to run my 93 cai tune all the time and have the controller pull the 4 degrees neccessarry to run my 100-125shot only when i spray. How easy is this to install?? I just bought the plate system from Nitrous Outlet yesterday.

WHAT???? How much does it cost you to fill the bottle every week?
If you use it that much, just pull the timing with the predator and be done with it.

Ok what I meant to say is that when i finally recieve in the mail and install the damn thing, I'll be using it 95% street/5% track. In other words, I hardly go to the track. If someone used nitrous 95% of the time on the street, they better live out in the boonies and have a 1oolb tank the size of the party ballon inflating tanks lol.
Pulling timing on the predator is the problem, I dont want to feel the negative effects of less timing (going slower) all day just so i can spray every once in a while. If i was at the track all the time cool, just change tunes before I run. But on the street its usually always spontaneous and only when I see a perfect opening or a mustang pulls up.

why are you pulling 4 degrees of timing for a 125hp system?

I have a 5.7 and I thought the rule of thumb was: 75 no timing, 100 -4, 125 -6?
I ordered the nitrous outlet kit with the throttle plate. I need to do my hw on the timing side of things. Do u pull the timing from the 93 cai canned tune opr the stock? Im a little confused.
Also what this timing controller? does anyone have experience with this thing?

Im going to buy that controllor I think. I do just what you do. but I have the 93 tune in my car and I pulled 3 degrees from all RPMS.

for tunning I took 3 degrees out for a 75 shot but I will keep 3 degrees out and put in 125 shot i think.

I would get details on how that timing box works before you get it.
I have seen some msd boxes for gm that do this and they work ok but they do not care about other inputs such as iat's , knock sensors etc etc, now that could get ugly, if you know what i mean.
The one i used required you to input your own timing table into the msd software and the car ran from that not taking into account other temp and knock sensor inputs.
Just my two cents...

75 shot no need to pull timing
100 shot -2*
125 shot -4*
This is just rule of thumb. If the car is CMR tuned results may vary

Does this apply for a 5.7? Also I heard there is a difference between a 75 shot using justthe nozzle and 75 using the nitrous outlet throttle plate. The Zex is supposidly 75 hp at the crank and the throttle plateis 75 at the wheels?
This is getting really confusing????

yea i'm pretty sure it does. Thats said about everywhere but you know what man, pull what you want. Be safe with your car. What everyone else pulls isnt what you need to pull.
I've sold these msd boxes a hundred times and they work well but as toona said theres an issue with our cars. this box will pull the timing but the pcm will see that and be WTF? and just adjust it back where it was.
ex
car sees 180 temp, 3.5 volt tps, k/r 0 blah blah blah, its programmed for say 12 degrees positive.
all of a sudden under those circumstances the car is 8 because of you installing something the pcm doesn t communicate with (i.e. its not there). Pcm says damn it not 8 , i said 12 and ramps it right back where it should be. Binanary matrix ****. I'm not geek squad but i know my check engine lights. Haha

dude I am exactly in the same boat as you. Never go to the track, so i want one tune that I can use for the street and for my n2o so I only use my n2o on the street and would love to spontaneously spank a mustang. I had a CMR tune, where i had 4 degrees of timing pulled all the time, and I hated it. I lost 50 miles per tank, and it actually felt slower. Now I am getting a new tune to go with my cam. Personally, "I THINK", that with a 100 shot, you should be OK not pulling any timing, the knock sensors should take care of it for you. Just watch your A/F when spraying, and adjust the fuel pill to make sure you stay rich. Staying rich should keep down the dentonation. I think on the street, the n2o bursts are much shorter than the track, so we can get away with pulling no timing. Do what you feel comfortable with, but that is what I do. Having timing pulled on your everyday driving for the 3 secnds you may use n2o once a week really sucked.
