noticed my car has been starting rough lately, and once i go to pull off, it seems like it surges/stumbles, like wanting to die then forces it self to stay running, once the car is fully warmed up it doesnt seem to do it any more..

i thought maybe the throttle body was dirty so i cleaned it a lil saturday, with some TB cleaner, and ran some chevron with techron fuel system cleaner throught tank i had in it till this mornings fuel up, seemed to smooth ot the idle, but soon as i hit the gas lightly to go, is when it stumbles/surges..

if i just put it in drive on flat surface the car will accelerate very lightly then stop and repeat that several times, untill its warmed up it seems..

heres the 2 codes i got today when i did the key dance , can anyone share a lil more info on what they mean, and there probable causes..

DTC P0123 Throttle Position (TP) Sensor Circuit High Voltage

DTC P0222 APP (Throttle Position) Sensor 2 Circuit Low Voltage

thanks guys..

It would make more sense if you had a predator and a 3.5...because that sounds like a low idle issue, but is your sensor on your air intake broken? I think the IAT, the hard one to remove off the tube.

the IAT sensor was not touched, i just unbolted the intake tube from the throttle body and gently moved it to the side, with the slack from the IAT Sensor wire , not the opposite side that would pull or stretch the wires out..

Maybe the TB itself has gone bad? Are you using a chip or anything?

no chip or anything, the car is still running fine, its just hte morning starts that are rough, and the surging untill the car is warmed up...

hmmm , i think they have been caused by starting the car while the intake tube was not connected?

i did that and sprayed a few blast of TB cleaner while the car was runing..but hte car never stalled out...

Yes, that would do it, my dad did the same with his and it threw 123....Thats the sensor not being hooked up or getting the correct feedback.

lol L is your new Drive...i get scared cruising around in L,but love the sound and feel, so i use 3 for the most part, and only put it in drive once over 55 on the highway...

That's usually a correlation of pedal position and the tps that is in the ETC. You may want to have someone with a staracan hook up and check your pedal sensors, also possibly reset the ecu and do an ETC reset.

I work for a dealer. If you need help just let me know.

i reset the ecu (pulled fuse 11) yesterday, codes are clear, havent popped back up, yet, so i"ll see what happens..

when i started the car for the first time this morning, it started to turn over then kinda like choked and died before actually starting, turned the key again and it fired right up no problem...

My car does the same thing. When cold it starts then the idle fluctuates up and down until warm.

This morning I turned the key it acting like it was gonna start but did not. Like it was not getting gas. I turned the key to the off position and then back and it started right up. Car is still under warranty, only 20k miles. Gonna take it in when I have time.
