There is a gray 2006 SRT8 for sale with all options and 16,000 miles for $26,000. Should I trade in my car? I think my payments would be about $100 more a month, and yes I can afford it. What kind of gas mileage would I be getting compared to my car? Right now I get about 20city/24highway What do yall think?
You'd probably get around 14/21-22 with the SRT8. Don't have one so can't tell from personal experience. Well if you can afford it, go for it. But don't forget the length of the loan... $100 per month for how many more months?

remember resale value as well... yes you can get into it now but can you get anything back from it later... if you are just going to be giving some 100$ more a month to get less than a V6 in trade in value 3-4 years down the road is it worth it?

Putney....GO BIG OR GO HOME.....and after all...YOU ARE HUGE.
Your gas mileage will be worse...but your SMILEAGE will be off the chart. I'm not a good person to talk to about mileage b/c I don't have to drive my car to work every day. I get about 13 city and 18 highway.

I have a Mag RT and love it to death but everytime I see an SRT8 have a little bit of envy. Get the SRT, you will have no regrets.

You only live once, and its too short for regrets..
What I recomend is picking up one of the many SRT's floating around on this site for the same price. 26-27k

Get

HEMI.
resale value? You can't put a price on bliss. If you could, it would be more than $100 per month, without a doubt.

One word of warning - do NOT test drive an SRT8..... unless you're prepared to buy it!!!!
I'd mentally bought mine about 3 minutes into the test drive....
first freeway on-ramp=first WOT=first 'OMG!'=SOLD!
Haven't regretted it for one second!! SRT8's aren't for everyones taste... but if it's yours you'll be hooked instantly.
As for mileage - I do a fair bit of highway driving on my commute ... I average around 20-21mpg ... and I don't exactly drive conservatively...

The best I ever got in mine was 22.9 mpg and 417 miles on a tank of gas, freeway of course. And re-sale value? Come on, whats going to be worth more in 20 years a six banger or the SRT? (SRTin case you didn't know). If my jump to the SRT was only $100 per month I would be jumping for joy. My change over was much more than that.
DO IT, DO IT, DO IT, DO IT.

I wish I had an SRT-8 but the only one my dealership could find that another dealership would let go was in Virginia and I'm in Maine plus the payment would go up from $283.75 to around $698, so I went with the one at the dealership. I'd say go for it!

According to fueleconomy.gov you will spend $4332 in gas a SRT and you will spend $3075 a year with the 3.5 so thats $1257 a year.
Now as far as the $100 a month is that not the WORST way to compare car prices? I am no car buying expert but numerous websites tell you not to buy based on monthly prices. So instead post how much they will give you for your trade in, how much you still owe on it if anything. then post how much they want for the SRT.
When you have those numbers you can post how much it would cost you to get an SRT. Then ask the question. Is it a good deal?
No offense to anyone but posting should I get it is not going to get you the greatest advice. :spock:

its not just the power its all the rest of the car , better brakes better suspension , better seats oh those seats , more creature comforts .There is a big difference in the cars .
I went from an 05 signature series to a 300c and have never looked back , i just looked at an SRT8 and its again a step up .
If it was not for that new camaro coming i would have the SRT8 in my drive way but i am going to wait and buy the camaro and just keep the 300c for normal day use .
So go for it you will not look back

IMO its less about milage and more about how often you plan to drive fast.
My previous car was a V8 before getting my 300 touring. I chose the V6 because of the mileage, yes , but mainly because I really dont drive fast too often to justify the added expense of more fuel and higher car payments. If the majority of your driving is gridlock freeways then whats the point?
I can still get to 100MPH in my touring just fine. The two times Ive actually done it.

all the above posts are great. but let's bottom line it... you could return enough pop bottles to make up the $100 difference. But that smile you CAN'T wipe off your face the day u purchase your SRT is worth 10X that.

man how much are you getting for pop bottles out west these days? here in NS its 5 cents so thats 2000 pop bottles a month. plus the gas is an extra 100 a month so thats 4000 pop bottles a month. 130 a day. Thats full time dumpster diving :)
just messing with ya

Never drove a 6 but I can tell you when I drove the SRT8 it was over...where do I sign! As for gas, well that is a different story. If you are concerned about the gas then maybe you shouldn't buy one cuz they love to be at the pump. Yeah you could be easy on the gas pedal (in theory that sounds possible) but what fun is that going to be??? Get it, you will totally enjoy it.

Go for it!!!...just go test drive it, and you should have your answer. The srt is waaaaay nicer than the 300c in so many ways.
