Saw this car in person on Saturday.... yeah that wheel is insanely huge. I wish some of these pictures could show you how skinny that tire is at the bottom of the wheel where its closest to the ground...... think skinnier than the width of your thumb. Not sure if the tires werent inflated all the way or what, but its nothing I could see anyone ever driving on.
24s are pretty much the limit for me on these cars. Some will disagree, but I think it can certainly be done tastefully. Different strokes for different folks, thats all.
Didnt get any pictures of it myself, but it was rather impressive to see in person. Lotta work had to go into that to make it happen, ya know? In that same row, there was a sick new Escalade EXT with 30" Asantis on it with plenty of tire as well for daily driving. Looked REAL clean..... surprised even me. Normally I think something like that is overkill, but the car wasnt gaudy in any other way.

Yeah, I saw that Charger on Saturday as well. And I saw Pat 'n D!!
The shop that did the Charger was located in Ohio, I think. There was definitely some modification done to make 'em fit but they molded it pretty well. Also, some of the trunks and rear ends on their vehicles had holes cut through with plexi windows molded in to see inside.

One thing I don't get about the whole big wheel thing is why they need to slap the size up there on the side of the car. It's not enough to put 28's on the car, you have to slap the 28" right next to them, just in case people couldn't tell they were oversized?

Iridescent baby s***... awesome
Not my thing.
And I agree... the badge on the side of the car stating how big the wheels are is, IMHO, the dumbest thing since "I'm with stupid" t-shirts. We aren't blind. It's not like your 360-lbs. of chrome goes unnoticed until the little B-Dazzled "24" catches our eye and then we're like "Damn, there are wheels on that car, I didn't even notice. Wonder how big they are. Oh, 24"? You don't say... I would have guessed 15"." These guys look five times cooler when winter rolls around and the stock wheels go back on. Then you're rockin on 17" hubcaps while your fender cries "I'm not really this lame, I swear! I have nice wheels at home!!!"
And that's my over-the-top analysis of the situation. Imma go get my fire-retardant jacket now... :friday:

That gives me an idea. We have a Bobcat at work with 30s on it. I could borrow them for the weekend and go to shows. I just have to use a fork truck to put them on and off.

thats probably becuase its a 10" rim; and only a 275 tire. its alredy small to begin with; but then its stretched the f' out.

Nope. Spinners.
The shop that built it kept spinning them at the DUB show so people could take video.

All i can do is shake my head on that..
those are ridiculous....28"
Those are rims that you would see on a truck or a lifted crown vic.
On the Norfolk Navy Base.. i saw a lifted crown with "26 but this is crazy on a charger!

I would be embarrassed to be seen anywhere near something like that. It's worse than:
The "Dalmation" fur dashboard covers.
The welded chain steering wheel.
The flashing lights in the exhaust pipe.
The bizarre orange real wood that looks fake in those dash kits.
Added together, all the above isn't as bad as those stupid looking wheels.

hmmmmmmm I didnt even know people still did chamillion paint or however you spell it. The 28"s are like uhmm worthless to me IMO because that car isn't driven is a trailer b!@ch. As far as 24"s i like to see them on a car because I know it's driveable that charger in the picture to me is straight up worthless trash to me. If I won that car or at was ever given to me I would sell it.

I think some of them are getting to the point that they should take an old stagecoach or wagon, and replace the body with the LX body. Maybe those wheels are finally too big.
Or maybe they can take an old freight car truck, and remove the (usually) 33" wheels and use those. Little heavy for the 2.7 and 3.5 owners though.

I will mark this day as the official day that I, ProfeZZor X, have officially been introduced to the concept of a 28 inch wheel being able to fit on an LX model car.... WOW.
...Doesn't mean that I would necessarily do it to my car though.
