I'm a car nut and I love car movies. Especially, action stuff (the whole reason I watch James Bond is for the Aston or whatever he's driving.) but there's nothing good out there this year. Well low and behold, there doing a remake of Death Race with Jason Statham (transporter, Italian Job) driving a Ford Mustang. I was going through some of the photos on Jalopnik and I noticed a certain grill next to what seems a totally badass Dodge Ram! There's also a BMW, Jaguar, Firebird, Cadillac and a Porsche from what else I've seen.

i was just reading that, and thought the same thing about the battery. I have the original Death Race on dvd somewhere. it was called Death Race 2000 right? i cant remember much about it, but this does look pretty cool. i love when our cars are in any movie.

Also, the Dreadnaught truck just looks BAD ASS.

I loved the part in the original when David Carradine is heading towards the Hospital - and they wheel all the invalids out, but he turns into the walkway and takes out all the Doctors.

Lawl!

Great cult movie. Are they going to use the same all-star cast in their geriatric years? That C looks HOT!

The cars look like they belong in the movie "The Road Warrior" rather than Death Race. The kit cars they made for Death Race 2000 were flashier looking, even with the guns. (But then again, Death Race 2000 was more of a farce then a serious movie)

Let's not forget the 300 in Transformers.

Also, don't forget the 300 SRT owned by IronMan, shown as he is approaching his jet.

Looks good! I watched the original many times only to really get really bored with David Carradines acting, Kung Foo was good I guess age helped him along with good scripts. The kills in the original were pretty funny, this version should Rock hard!

Looks like some cool stuff.

A friend of mine worked, in Montreal, on these cars. He said that there were all sorts of cool older and newer muscle cars. I think that they put the exterior cladding on most of them. They would take measurements and created the cladding on CAD, then had the pieces water jet cut from thin sheet metal. Lots of fiberglass added, also.

He also said that he tried to get me on the project, but I guess that I will just have to watch the movie.
