Well let me tell you my story last week I went to the dealer for my last oil change under warranty miles. I also got a sway bar replaced and bushings under warranty. Well when I left I went to the diy car wash. Ever since then my car has been smelling like burning plastic or the glue from a hot glue gun. At first it was pretty bad and smoky but the smoke and smell kept going away. So I finally made it back to the dealer this morning. I explained the problem to the guy at the service desk. He said let me take a look at your car and he went out side got on his hands and knees and found my problem in 15 seconds. I had a plastic bag stuck to my left cat. It was all hard and crusty and was slowly burning off. He was like you should be fine scrape it off or let it burn it self off. I was speechless I have been trying to find the problem under the hood all week. I look under the car for leaks. I thought it was a antifreeze leak and it was burning. So I was out in less than 10 minutes when I planned on being there 2 hours at least. So he save me 80 an hour labor because that would not have been under warranty.
So I was so proud of my customer service rep I decided to call back and demand to speak to the manager. I told him he needed to give Hector a raise for such a good job he did. He went the extra mile and got me out quick.

Now that I think about it I hope I didn't get him in trouble he could of made 80 bucks off of me.

The same thing happened to my wife a while back. Complained about a burning smell so look under the car to find a plastic bag melted to the exhaust system. Took about 3 weeks for the smell to go away.

At least you had an honest service rep. Some dealers are better then others about things like that.

I was told its a common thing for Dodge's. The fruit loop that sits next to me at work explained this to me today.

I'm on week 2 so the smell should be gone by this weekend its pretty faint now.

Maybe if there was some ground clearance under your car they wouldn't get stuck.:Na_Na_Na_Na::Na_Na_Na_Na:

happend to me too.. Girlfriend says "the magnum smells bad". pulled into the garage, and sure enough, smelled like burning plastic.

I looked all around, under the hood, in the back, and finally after about a week i looked under the car to find one of the HUGE black yard debris bags hanging from my drivers side cat/pipe.

Took it to work (work at a dealer), hoisted it up, and got to grinding.

about a week later the smell finally went away. :blam:
