Thinking of picking up a used FP 3825...
Were the SC issues for an early build '05 (4/14/04) RT ever resolved?

That depends on what revision your ECM and TCM are at. If they are at a supported version, then it works just fine. I've been using my flashpaq without issue for almost two years now. BTW, my car was built 05/04 for reference. ECM ver is 04896405AQ and my TCM ver is 04896395AH.
Originally those of us with the early build Mags had to contact SC to get a particular special software rev (v1.03s) before the flaspaq would work with our cars, but the changes found in that rev have been incorporated into every software rev since. I just updated my flashpaq last week to v1.13 and flashed my car with it.
The tricky part is finding out what rev level your ECM & TCM are at without the flashpaq. If you already have one, it's easy. The next trick is to find a dealer that will flash your ECM or TCM if it's needed. Some just won't do it no matter what. Others don't seem to have a problem.
Good luck and let us know how you make out.

It really does depend, my dad's is an 05/04 build and he could not use superchips because of the TCM crashing. He just bought a predator and he can use the tuning portion for power, but cannot modify the TCM settings at all.

For the price it is worth a try....you should be fine. If not you can always sell it again and not be out much.

They fixed the problem, my 04/04 Magnum was used by them to work things out. You may have to have your TCM & ECM updated tho.
If in doubt, give Superchips a call.................

Works just fine on my 10/04 build...
RE: going to v1.13 - does it do anything cooler than the v1.11 does?
Is there a compelling reason to go there?

For the money i'm willing to give the SC a go. Where can I buy one of the discounted ones? How do I know that someone hasn't "kept" the better tune? How do I get all the latest version? How do I buy if I buy from someone on here?Like ebay?
Thanks,
Lusty

Just start a new posting here that you want to buy a Superchips, or search the stuff for sale here.
You can update the Superchips over the internet, just sign onto their website.

Thanks all...
So, to summarize, if I pick one up...worse case scenario is that it just won't work (but it won't disable my vehicle or anything like that) until I can get it to a dealer to update my TCM or ECM?
TCM & ECM stand for what?

Unfortunately there is always the chance that you can brick your ride with any programmer. The big thing may be to first hook it up to your car and have it read your computers and report what part numbers/revisions they are programmed to. If your ECM and TCM are the same versions as what I've specified and the Flaspaq has v1.3s or higher, you should be OK. If either the ECM or TCM are older revs than what I've specified in my post above, then the FP may not work or cause you some issues. If your TCM is an older rev, you should get an error when trying to program it that you need to get it updated.
ECM = Engine Control Module
TCM = Transmission Control Module
