I have a good floor jack (and stands) and would like to know the best way to get the front end up to check steering box slop / tie rods.

Is there one good spot in the front to jack it up or do I need to jack it up on both sides and get the stands underneath it?

Thanks

If you've removed the bellypans, there's a great spot to raise the whole front at once - right in the middle of the big frame member between the front wheels. You need a low profile jack to clear the front fascia too...

With the bellypans still on there, I wouldn't recommend it, because it would be hard to tell if you're on it or not.

Short of that, I think it's one side at a time, but someone else may have a trick.

Thanks...I saw a picture of someone jacking theirs up from the front so I thought I'd check it out.

By the time I get it up and on to ramps to get the plastic cover off, it may take the same amount of time to use the stands on each side.

here's the jacking points for a Charger, you're gonna have to lift it from both sides. Apply emergency brake or chock the back wheels first.

True, the first time - but I'd leave them off once they're off. If you do so, though, make sure to secure the wheelwell liners to the fascia somehow. This works pretty well:

Yeah, certain members have made that mistake. I heard it's expensive (and no it wasn't me)

Well not for the front of the car :-)

I just found out a great way to jack it up as long as your plastic pan to change the oil is off.

This being due to not being able to get it from the front of fascia.

Turn the steering wheel all the way to the right (when your in the driver seat).
Then you can access the main jacking bar that will lift the whole front end up at once by going behind the rear of the front driver side tire. There is enough room to do with a non-low profile jack and you can jack it up fast with the height available.

I may do a write up next time I do it.
